Bonsink
Derk Bonsink and his company Bonsink Yacht Painters have a longtime reputation as one of the best in the field. A true water sports enthusiast, Bonsink has spent most of his life on the water. However, he wanted to put his knowledge and passion for boats to a better use. So the time came to start building yachts. His first prototype was the Serious Yachts 13.80, a more than average motorboat. Next he began the design for a Serious Yachts Gently 57’, inspired on Bonsink’s own yacht Thalassa, a 1975 Bowman Trawler that underwent a complete refit by Bonsink in 2004 (see maintenance & refit). Eventually he first developed a smaller version of the Gently 57’, the well-received Gently 36’, which immediately earned Serious Yachts a nomination for Motor Yacht of the Year in 2009.

The Shipyart
Serious Yachts is located in Zwartsluis. Professionals such as painters, carpenters, hull builders and steelworkers are all directly employed by Serious Yachts. Our sales are conducted in partnership with Marina/yacht broker De Kranerweerd. It’s a perfect partnership; the companies are only a stone’s throw apart and Bonsink is also part owner of the Marina/yacht broker De Kranerweerd. Our in-house knowledge and expertise allow us tackle any job. Whether you require interior or exterior woodwork, painting or RVS work, or even a complete refit, it can all be taken care of by Serious Yachts in Zwartsluis.

All the work is done by our own staff so we personally vouch for the highest quality. We only use the very best materials and the quality of our workmanship comes first. Our committed staff give even the “simplest” tasks their undivided attention. Of course we always consult the customer to ensure that the end product will best suit your needs.
