Sterling Rope

Company Profile

DryCoreTM Only Sterling ropes and cords have DryCoreTM. DryCore is just that--dry cores. The core is the strength and power of your rope. When your rope gets wet, it loses that strength and will stretch more. Even if you dry treat your rope, abrasion will lessen its effectiveness and wear out the application over time. This won't happen with Sterling's DryCore because its dry characteristics are inherent in the fiber. DryCore is made from AlliedSignal's SeaGard fibers. Since the core represents approximately 70% of the weight of the rope, almost three quarters of your Sterling rope is always dry. And, with DryCore, your rope will always have superior stretch and strength characteristics and lower impact force relative to other nylons, absorbing more shock under high loads. Better Braid TechnologyTM Sterling Rope developed a precise manufacturing and braiding process that incorporates the finest yarns, state of the art machinery, and the most stringent quality control standards. There are several parts to this process, but perhaps the most critical is twisting the fibers to create sheath and core yarns. Twist in core and sheath yarns is what determines the performance and the handling of a rope, as well as the life of the sheath. Too little twist in the sheath and the rope becomes soft and shows premature abrasion and "puffiness" in the sheath. Too little in the core and the rope becomes a cable. At Sterling, we twist our sheath yarns significantly more than other companies, which produces a more supple static rope with less yarn exposed to abrasion. Better Braid TechnologyTM guarantees that our ropes work better with your equipment, have stronger sheaths to last longer, and lighter weight to allow you to move more quickly, more efficiently, reducing the fatigue factor.
