Easy and reliable imaging spectrometer for UAV

The Cubert S 185 is the lightest version of our revolutionary full frame imaging technology. Thus it combines the precision of hyperspectral cameras with the ease of use of a snapshot camera. In combination, this camera provides the smartest access to hyperspectral areal images you could ever imagine. With no need of an IMU you will get full hyperspectral cubes in 1/1000 of a second! Furthermore the preprocessed cubes are transferred to the ground station during flight and you can start to analyze your areal hyperspectral images already on site!

The difference to push broom technology

The S 185 uses a unique technology which establishes a fair balance between areal resolution and spectral resolution. The result is an imaging spectrometer with no need for scanning (like push broom technology) or image combination after fast filter shifts. Our technology provides clean hyperspectral images out of the box without any moving artifacts. During the development of the Firefly we miniaturized our laboratory platform. The weight was reduced from 3 kg to a total weight of 490 g (including camera). This was achieved by the use of lightweight and yet stable materials like aluminum and Kevlar. Due to the abstinence of any moving part, the package provides a light but longtime stable product. In combination with an industry grade processing unit for the on air data storage and the ground communication, we achieve a ready to fly weight of as low as 840 g.

            Top Innovation of 2015

The Q 285 is the first of its kind full frame, non-scanning, imaging spectrometer. Our technology combines the simplicity of a point-and-shoot camera with the precision of hyperspectral imaging. This VIS to near-infrared imaging spectrometer was designed having industry, laboratory and outdoor use in mind. With its IP67 certification it is especially designed for rough environments and long term stability. The unique working principle guarantees easy access to hyperspectral images, real time processing up to hyperspectral video frame rates.

            Full frame hyperspectral imaging:

The goal of our development was an easy to handle imaging spectrometer with no need for scanning (like push broom technology) or image combination after fast filter shifts. Instead of the slit of a push broom scanning device we use a spatial grid which images two dimensional data points trough the spectral apparatus onto the CCD. Recalculation of the interwoven spatial and spectral information gives us direct access to the hyperspectral cube with every frame captured. This process takes as little as 1/1000 of a second. Thus there are no moving artifacts, no hassle with translation stages and no restrictions in speed. All that technology was packed into a waterproof, dustproof and shock-resistant housing which guarantees long term stability and lets you use the system where you need it. With this technology you get unique advantages above all available systems on the market, which enables absolutely new and outstanding applications.

            Snapshot hyperspectral imaging:

Easy and reliable imaging spectrometer for Microscopes

The M 185 is based on our scientific grade multi point spectrometer S 185. It features all the advanced Hyperspectral Imaging properties of the S185 and adds a proper adaption to typical Microscopic setups from Zeiss, Olympus or Leica. The working principle of the Device is very close to usual Snapshot RGB cameras. Your workflow will not change in comparison to your RGB documentation system except a much higher level of spectral information in each pixel. If you are interested in observing fast kinetics, Fluorescence signals or Cell changes, we believe this is the easiest way to start with microscopic hyperspectral imaging.

Six spectral channels, one optical path

The S 219 is a highly integrated spectral imager, capable of measuring four to six different spectral colors with a 4 Megapixel resolution. This device is easy to use and adaptable to your application. The optical and electrical design helps you focus on your mission. All colors are captured exactly on the same time and from exactly the same viewing angle. A global shutter prevents further moving artifacts. This is what we consider a snapshot imager. There is no need for preprocessing. The camera has an integrated processing board and all data is saved on one SD-card. We are happy to talk with you about filter settings for your specific application.

                Reliable and easy

This camera was designed to make your application more reliable and easy. With a nearly free choice of optical filters we are able to deliver you exactly what it takes to bring spectral imaging into the field. The goal of our development was an easy to handle affordable spectral imager. We wanted to tackle the obstacles of existing multichannel imagers. Therefore we developed an optical design which combines 4 sensors through one optical path. In combination with an intelligent camera design and our spectral imaging software we give you the easiest to use multispectral imager available. We are happy to discuss your applications.

                  • Tablet App for remote control

                  What you should know

Due to the nature of the mosaic filter on chip technology is not possible to produce a full VIS-NIR spectra on one single chip. Due to the need of accurate cut off filters, the sensors are typically covering the visible from 470-600nm or the near infrared from 600-1000nm. If you are in the need of the full VIS-NIR spectra, the ButterflEYE X2 is the solution. It combines two filter on chip mosaic sensors imaging through one single lens. The device features computerless, action-cam-like operation. With our plugin architecture it is possible to define your own spectral applications, load them to the camera and enjoy the online output of the results with our brand new tablet application. Spectral imaging can not get more simple than that.

                • Applications

                • Applications of Spectroscopy

Spectroscopy is widely used for the chemical analysis of matter of various kind. Spectrometers are used for the contactless chemical analysis in virtually any field of interest. Imaging spectrometers provide the opportunity for simple spatially resolved chemical analysis. Applications range from remote sensing applications over quality control in the food industry to plastics separation in the waste industry.

The Cubert GmbH provides the first of its kind, high resolution full frame imaging spectrometer. It records 2D-spatial information and all spectral bands at the same time. The complete imaging process takes as little as 1 ms (e.g. for measurements in sunlight). In contrast to the standard point or line scanning spectrometers, this novel technique is capable of the spectral imaging of moving objects or the work from small moving platforms without any image distortion. Additionally it offers the possibility of spectroscopic video capturing and analysis in real time.

                  New fields of application

This technique enhances old working fields of spectral imaging and enables completely new fields of application. For scientific users the hyperspectral imaging of fast processes is finally possible. Furthermore it enables distortion-free hyperspectral imaging from UAV platforms in remote sensing. In industrial applications this technique is the hassle-free alternative to the widely used monochrome and RGB industrial cameras with the only difference that, instead of the light intensity or the color, the chemical signature of the product can be observed.
                    • Remote Sensing

                    • Remote Sensing for small Aircraft

Demand for information about the health of our planet Earth has grown exponentially over the years. Remote Sensing is the science of obtaining that information, usually about objects or areas from a distance, mostly from an aircraft or satellites.
Cubert has been leading the way in the Remote Sensing market with their evolving and innovative range of multispectral and hyperspectral sensors. Focusing their efforts on deploying their sensors on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), this typically involves UAV’s, such as rotary copters, fixed wing aircraft and also manned aircraft.

                      Demands in Agriculture

Remote Sensing has a wide range of applications in many different fields e.g. Natural resource management; Ocean applications, Coastal applications; Hazard assessment and Precision farming. Precision farming is without doubt the biggest growth area as this is being driving by the global demand for food. This market is expected to grow to $4.8 Billion USD by 2020.
Cuberts product range is ideally suited to serve this market due to their small, lightweight design, and robustness, that gives reliable and repeatable performance. This makes them the perfect sensor for any RPAS platform, not only in the air but also on the ground with farmers and researchers turning to Automated Steering Systems for ground based measurements.
Remote Sensing in conjunction with Cuberts sensors will allows researchers to cover a fast amount of inaccessible territory rapidly and precisely.
                        • UAV Mapping with FireflEYE

                        • 3D Spectral mapping with UAV snapshot cameras

The paper we present you here describes a novel method to derive 3D hyperspectral information from lightweight snapshot cameras for unmanned aerial vehicles for vegetation monitoring. Snapshot cameras record an image cube with one spectral and two spatial dimensions with every exposure. First, we describe and apply methods to radiometrically characterize and calibrate these cameras. Then, we introduce our processing chain to derive 3D hyperspectral information from the calibrated image cubes based on structure from motion.

A novel way of quality assurance

The approach includes a novel way for quality assurance of the data which is used to assess the quality of the hyperspectral data for every single pixel in the final data product. The result is a hyperspectral digital surface model as a representation of the surface in 3D space linked with the hyperspectral information emitted and reflected by the objects covered by the surface. In this study we use the hyperspectral camera Cubert UHD 185-Firefly, which collects 125 bands from 450 to 950 nm. The obtained data product has a spatial resolution of approximately 1 cm for the spatial and 21 cm for the hyperspectral information. The radiometric calibration yields good results with less than 1% offset in reflectance compared to an ASD FieldSpec 3 for most of the spectral range. The quality assurance information shows that the radiometric precision is better than 0.13% for the derived data product. We apply the approach to data from a flight campaign in a barley experiment with different varieties during the growth stage heading (BBCH 52 – 59) to demonstrate the feasibility for vegetation monitoring in the context of precision agriculture. The plant parameters retrieved from the data product correspond to in-field measurements of a single date field campaign for plant height (R2 = 0.7), chlorophyll (BGI2, R2 = 0.52), LAI (RDVI, R2 = 0.32) and biomass (RDVI, R2 = 0.29). Our approach can also be applied for other image-frame cameras as long as the individual bands of the image cube are spatially co-registered beforehand.
                        • UAV Mapping with ButterflEYE

                        • Introducing the ButterflEYE LS

Cubert GmbH, the leading provider of real time, non-scanning, imaging spectrometers, that combines the simplicity of a point and shoot camera with the precision of hyperspectral imaging, teamed up earlier this year with VITO’s Remote Sensing Unit. The idea was to develop the COSI Cam, a low cost, revolutionary high ground resolution hyperspectral imager, utilizing the novel hyperspectral imaging chip developed by IMEC (Belgium).

After a few months of designing and developing the sensor, the hard work of the VITO and Cubert team finally paid off as the first prototype of the COSI Cam took to the skies over Southern Germany this week.

Utilizing the dedicated test site next to the Cubert HQ, with access to corn crops, apple orchards and various types of vegetation. The COSI cam was mounted onto a small UAV, this enables the sensor to monitor hundreds of hectares in a single flight. The COSI Cam is designed to meet the fast growing remote sensing market that covers a vast range of applications, such as; agriculture, precision farming, yield prediction, forest management, biomass, fertilizer management and crop health to name but a few key examples.

Initial results are extremely promising thanks to the fast and easy imaging method combined with a reliable processing developed by VITO to gain ready to use action and information maps.

VITO Remote Sensing and Cubert have come to an agreement to commercialize the system and it will be included into the Cubert hyperspectral imaging system portfolio as the first high resolution hyperspectral mapping device. Cubert will brand the new sensor under their ButterflEYE range of imaging products, the ButterflEYE LS.

                          Technology

The newly branded ButterflEYE LS is based on linear filter-on-chip spectral imager technology. The imager operates at high frame rates on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) to generate over 160 spectral channel hyperspectral maps with a ground resolution of up to 9cm. The imager is built with ease of use in mind, as there is a control panel for computerless operation, all data is stored on camera SSD hard drive, combined with wireless remote operation.

Conceptually the system is very similar to a standard digital camera as it acquires 2-dimensional images of the scene. However, the hyperspectral capability, which allows to sense the visible and near infrared spectral range through narrow bands, is realized using a disruptive thin film filter technology which is directly deposited at the image sensor chip of the camera. The spectral bands are arranged per line, with groups of 5 to 8 adjacent lines having the same spectral response.

A unique property of the specific camera design and processing approach is that it is able to produce maps with a very high spatial resolution (e.g. 9cm from 180m altitude). As a result, the system allows to support single plant monitoring in, for instance small experimental field plots of a few m² each and covering a total area of about 1 ha, as has been demonstrated using rotary wing Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). Embarked on a suitable fixed wing RPAS system the system is able to cover also larger areas of hundreds of ha in a single flight mission at resolutions of 10 cm which is more suitable for operational monitoring.

                          Image processing software

The image processing workflow is developed by VITO and involves several steps:
                          • pre-processing
                          • hyperspectral datacube generation
                          • raster calculation and compositing
                        • Field applications for HSI

                        • A new form of Remote Sensing

Imaging spectroscopy has widely been used by satellite and airborne platforms. Recent technological developments have opened new ways in spectral-spatial data acquisition. Imaging spectroscopy is now available also for ground truthing and novel field imaging measurements.

                          Mobile spectroscopy to the fullest

Cubert revolutionized portable spectral imaging. Our state-of-the-art technology combines full frame technique with high precision spectroscopy. Cubert´s imaging field spectrometer produces a full spectral image at much higher speeds (1 ms) and frequencies (25 Hz) than conventional hyperspectral line scanners. One of the key benefits of our field imaging spectrometer is its portability that enables hand-held imaging spectroscopy. Under proper illumination conditions off-nadir spectroscopic measurements are applicable and reasonable. This capability extends field spectroscopy to landscape spectroscopy.

                          Imaging spectroscopy anytime and anywhere

Portable imaging field spectroscopy will change your attitude about field data acquisition. Unlike hyperspectral line scanners, a snapshot imaging spectrometer can spectrally capture randomly and quickly moving objects and processes. By the extremely increased temporal resolution a new technique came true: the hyperspectral video. Vehicle based imaging spectroscopy can be experienced at an advanced way providing innovative applications for under water research, unmanned aerial platforms and much more. Next generation field remote sensing can focus more on real-time spectral object tracking and identification without limitations in time and space. Take advantage of field imaging spectroscopy right now!
                      • Machine Vision

                      • Advanced machine vision

Machine vision gives eyes to a computer by giving it one or more RGB video cameras and helping it understand its surroundings. The resulting data is then downloaded to a computer or robot controller.

                        By introducing Cuberts spectral imaging products adds a new dimension to machine vision by combining the simplicity of a point and shoot camera with the precision of hyperspectral imaging. This technology is a game changer and is opening up new application possibilities. Not only can we sort by colour, we can now sort by different stages of quality. Spectral imaging will be the key differentiator with respect to quality inspection of;
                        • Fruit – Apples, citrus fruit, tomatoes, strawberries, almonds, peanuts
                        • Vegetables – Cauliflowers, potatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms
                        • Meat, pork, and chicken
                        • Seafood – Salmon, cod, prawns
                        • Grains – wheat, barley, maize
                        • Biofilms – food packaging
                        • The recycling market is also benefiting from this technology in terms of sorting different types of plastics, paper, and waste electronics.
Improvements in data analysis would elevate the processing speed of hyperspectral imaging data, making lower cost multispectral platforms the best choice for machine vision sorting in the future.

                              • Quality control of fruits

Quality control of agricultural products is a very common application of hyperspectral imaging. In this demonstration we use a FireflEYE S 185 with a simple halogene illumination to detect ripeness of palm oil fruit. We compare three different palm oil fruit samples. One in an unripe stadium, one is medium ripe and one is very ripe and ready to harvest.

The preparation of the costum-designed filter took only thirty minutes after examining the fruits for the first time.
Hyperspectral imaging is a very useful tool for the determination of the ripeness of agricultural products.

                          • Life Science

Life sciences covers a multitude of diverse areas and applications, from microorganisms, plants, animals, and human beings, covering topics such as medicine and drug discovery, cancer, biology and biotechnology and the list goes on and on.
Cuberts range of real time non-scanning imaging spectrometers, that combines the simplicity of a point ‘n’ shoot camera with the precision of hyperspectral imaging, provide an excellent optical platform for researchers and manufacturers to diagnose and detect various types of cancers and diseases. More recently hyperspectral imaging is being trialed for early detection of Alzheimers and brain tumors with modest success.

                            Non Scanning Spectral Imaging

The Cubert design is a non-scanning design, a full frame (snapshot) spectral image is taken in less than a millisecond providing 2,500 to 100 thousands of single spectra per cube and up to 20 cubes per second. This means that unlike many of their competitors who generally use push broom technology with a line scan camera, they have to move either the sensor or the sample to build up their data cube, which sometimes can take a long time depending on size of the sample (patient) and the lighting conditions. This can be extremely difficult when the operating room is limited in space or a microscope manufacturer has to include some sort of linear motion device into their design. This can prove costly in terms of time and money.

                            Device Range

Cubert recently launched multiple cameras capable of applications for microscopy, ranging form the FireflEYE to the ButterflEYE Systems. All of our cameras offer state of the art diagnostic tool for pathology and cytogenetic labs, as well as OEM microscope manufacturers.
                              • Microscopy

                              • The medical sector, especially the pathology, is one of our fields of interest. Cubert´s hyperspectral camera can be used with nearly every front optic. To obtain pathological information the Hedgehog UHD 285 was adapted to a microscope (Axiophot from Zeiss). The goal is the development of methods for the dye-free diagnosis of cancer. That would enable a much faster and cheaper diagnosis. Which speeds up surgery and cuts down the time the patient needs to be in anesthesia while waiting for the result of the pathologist. Therefore we use the hyperspectral data to enhance the detection of different diseases.

                                Setup

An UHD 285 was adapted to the measurement port of an Axiophot from Zeiss. Measurements where performed in the wavelength range of 450 – 750 nm with 75 spectral channels. The spatial resolution was 1 MPixel. The recordings are made in transmitted light with an integration time of 5 or 10 ms. The frame rate was up to 15 Hz and magnification could be chosen of 20 and 40 times.

                                Measurements of collagen

Collagen is a group of naturally occurring proteins found in humans and animals. In the human body the collagen content is more than 30% of the total weight of all proteins. It is a very important component of connective tissue and of the skin.

                                Measurements of skin

Skin is the most versatile organ. It serves as a barrier to the outside, a protection from environmental influences and it takes over important functions in the realm of metabolism and immunology. It consists of three layers: the epidermis, the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue (or hypodermis).

                                      Cubert’s Integrated Multi Point Spectrometer

All Cubert devices are snapshot devices with no moving parts. One of the core technology here is the multi point spectrometer technology, the technology makes it possible to take high quality spectral measurements in the whole field of view. The integrated spectrometer contains also a pan sharpening sensor to have a detailed overview. With this set you can work with spectral and spatial information of your sample. Working with the Cubert software you can instantly analyse your measurement.

                                      Multi Point Spectrometer

The multi point spectrometer technology is special made for full frame spectral measurements containing a continuous spectra. Since the spectras are generated with a quite conservative setup you will experience high fidelity spectral accuracy. By taking the measurement with one single shot there will be no gaps in the spectra. So there is no loss of information in the spectra because of filter gaps.

Multi point spectrometer are working with a special spectrometer setup. The closest technology are the push broom scanning devices. The big difference between both ideas is, that in the multi point spectrometer the linear entrance slit of the spectrometer is divided separate small pinholes. By intelligent ordering this pinholes in to a regular grid, you get spectra from the whole field of view. To make the system more light efficient a special lens grid is used in front of the spectrometer. With this high sensitive setup you can reach integration times like standard photo cameras.

                                      Pan Sensor Approach

To get a more detailed over view over the image a pan sharpening sensor is used in the Cubert hyper spectral camera. This pan sharpening sensor uses the same optical path like the spectrometer does. By mechanical overlaying of both, pan and spectrometer sensor, and precise factory calibration both sensors measure the same field of view. To make it nice looking the Cubert software calculate a pan sharped hyperspectral image, by using linear interpolation. However, if you need raw spectral and spacial measurement you can easily reach them by changing view type or export mode.

                                      Impressive Spectral Mapping

The newly branded ButterflEYE LS is based on linear filter-on-chip spectral imager technology. The imager operates at high frame rates on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) to generate over 160 spectral channel hyperspectral maps with a ground resolution of up to 9 cm. The imager is built with ease of use in mind, as there is a control panel for computerless operation, all data is stored on camera SSD Harddrive, combined with wireless remote operation.
Figure 1. Imaging concept of the COSI-Cam with linear variable filter (left), a single raw image of the COSI-Cam (right)

The imaging concept of the camera is shown in figure 1. The thin film filters were deposited on a 2 Megapixels high sensitivity CMOS image sensor by the micro-electronics laboratory Imec giving a continuous coverage of the 450 to 950 nm spectral range with 160 narrow band filter responses (FWHM 5 to 10 nm) .
Embarked on a suitable fixed wing RPAS the system is able to cover also larger areas of hundreds of ha in a single flight mission at resolutions of 10 cm which is more suitable for operational monitoring.

                                      Image Processing Software

The image processing workflow is developed by VITO and involves several steps:
                                      • pre-processing
                                      • hyperspectral datacube generation
                                      • raster calculation and compositing

                                      Cubert’s Integrated Technologies

Here at Cubert, we provide solutions that integrate many new technologies into our camera. Cubert is looking ahead to find an integral solution for consumer oriented markets. One of the technologies we implement in our solutions is the mosaic sensor designed by IMEC and integrated into our ButterflEYE solutions. This technology provides the ability, with regards to hyperspectral imaging to be able to allow multiple applications to provide a solution where scanning is not possible.

                                      Mosaic Technology

The mosaic technology allows for a spectral filter to be used for every pixel of a captured image. These mosaics are split into two different versions. One version is in a 4×4 format (allowing for 16 spectral bands) and the other version is a 5×5 format (allowing for 25 spectral bands. Both versions are in a full array of 2 million pixels (5.5µm) in size. The 4×4 mosaic chip collects data within the visible range of the visual spectrum (470-630nm) and the 5×5 mosaic chip collects data from within the non-visible range (NIR) of the visual spectrum (600-1000nm).

This technology allows for a wide range of uses from large applications to anything as small as your handheld device like a smartphone or tablet. Of course, this technology also allows for an expanded capture range on both the visible and non-visible spectrum, particularly on the visible spectrum side where the range has been extended to 470nm. What makes these chips ideal for Cubert products is that the technology is self is flexible and catered to the needs of many industries as an off-the-shelf commercial product or as a more meticulously designed solution for specific target speed rates, band selection, cost, etc. As Cubert strives to be a leader in the market of hyperspectral imagery, this flexibility in technology allows for Cubert to implement these technologies in state-of-the-art products such as the ButterflEYE and ButterflEYE x2 spectral imagers.

                                      ButterflEYE Integration

Cubert provides two solutions within our ButterflEYE solution currently, both with features that work with many applications and multiple environments. Since Cubert has been the first company to focus on snapshot hyperspectral imaging, we introduced the first high resolved snapshot hyper spectrometer. As we have moved forward with our technology, we have started to successfully integrate the specialty mosaic chips as outlined above into our line of spectral camera products. With the ButterflEYE, we are able to use this technology to offer real-time spectral imaging for a wide range of values in the spectral waveform. Our ButterflEYE spectral imager offers two great solutions for application in UAV’s, precision farming, medical applications, remote sensing and many more. The options we give to users are the S/Q 128 version and the S/Q 137 version. The S/Q 128 provides a spectral coverage of 470-630nm on 16 channels and our S/Q 137 version provides a spectral coverage of 600-1000nm on 25 channels. The reason why our product can outdo the competition is that not only will our spectral imagers allow you to take real-time spectral images in HD, but they also allow for local storage on an SD device with the option of post processing on the camera itself. This makes the ButterflEYE S/Q128/137 a truly remarkable model in the imaging market worthy of use in many areas and within many industries.

                                      ButterflEYE X2 Integration

You’ve seen what the mosaic chip technology can do to produce a truly spectacular product such as the ButterflEYE. The innovation doesn’t stop there, though! With the new ButterflEYE X2 spectral imager, new possibilities are endless. This is the first of its kind in the industry where we have integrated 2 mosaic chips instead of one. This allows us to cover an even wider array of both the visible and non-visible spectrum in our imagers. Cubert has been ahead of the curve in this technology and has successfully increased the ability of our imagers by allowing the user to now capture 41 spectral bands within the range of 450-950nm combined. This also opens up a new era of intelligent spectral camera imaging where you now gain access to full spectral cubes of 2000 x 1000 x 41 channels with every sensor readout. Being the first VIS-NIR chip camera on the market, Cubert has successfully fused the two chips together creating a new ability to cover the entire VIS-NIR spectra. The ButterflEYE X2 seamless combines the chips through one lens and offers a computer less action camera type operation. Cubert has made their two ButterflEYEs become one, potentially becoming one of the most lucrative spectral imaging solutions available on the market.

                                      Advantages
The CMOS or CCD sensors possess global shutter. They are connected to the camera base unit by a flex-foil-cable with LVDS transmission and can be positioned freely. The image data is coordinated on a dedicated FPGA module. Multi-sensor cameras produce pixel-synchronous images from several positions, as required for 3D reconstruction and stereo vision, for example. Light section, cray code and phase shift processes can even be applied to moving objects when using multi-sensor cameras.

All intelligent cameras build in cooperation with VRmagic are equipped with the DaVinci processor from Texas Instruments, featuring a 300 MHz ARM9 processor running the Linux operating system, and a 600 MHz DSP with 4800 MIPs, which is entirely available for image processing tasks. The cameras are equipped with 256 MB RAM and a 512 MB flash module. The supported interfaces include Ethernet, USB 2.0 Host, RS232 and General Purpose I/O, analog video output as well as an optional digital video output and audio interface.

To demonstrate this easy process we implemented additional user interfaces in different languages. These example interfaces are starting points to get you running with your own application development. The code of this interfaces is open source and free of charge for you to use, modify and distribute. At the moment we provide two demo interfaces

                                    • Simple to use SDK
                                    • Communication with the camera from (nearly) any computer language possible
                                    • Example Python interface (Python is a simple to learn and open source programming language)
                                    • Example Matlab interface (Matlab is a very successful language for scientific computing)

The application is divided into four sections.

                                        1. In the upper part the workflow of a typical measurement is resembled. You begin in the setup part, where you also calibrate the camera. After calibration you switch to the measurement part where you perform your hyperspectral imaging with a single click. 2. After your successful measurements you will find some basic analysis tools in the analysis part and also export capabilities to Envi, Excel, txt and also bitmaps.
All recorded data will be stored to disk automatically and are listed in the lower left part. The images are saved with name, date and time whereby the upper image is the latest one.
                                        3. You can view a large representation of every image you measured with the camera in the middle of the screen. The images are displayed in 3 channel false color or 1 channel false color view. Here you can also select single spectra, region of interests etc.
                                        4. In the lower right part of the screen the selected spectra will be plotted
