ARC Informatique is a French company established in 1981 to provide computing services with particular emphasis in the area of process control and management. ARC Informatique is a member of the ARC Group that also includes CTI in UK and PCVUE SEA in Singapore. In 1985 it was foreseen that production systems would develop towards integrated assemblies leading to the creation of supervision systems. At the same time the capability of personal computers (PC's) would make them the most appropriate means of satisfying this potential market. Therefore the decision was made to develop the supervisory software package now known as PCVUE. Since 1985 ARC has invested over 90 man years and 30 Million US$ in the research and development of HMI & SCADA software.
Achievement
In 1985, PCVUE became and remains the best selling SCADA package in France with over 35% of the market share. Following the success of PCVUE in France, in 1990 the decision was made to expand the operation leading to distributor agreements with companies throughout Europe. In addition ALSTOM, CEGELEC, JUMO, VIVENDI and SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC also sell PCVUE under their own brand name. As a result ARC Informatique is the leading independent European supplier of software for industrial automation and PCVUE is the key component of the PCVUE INDUSTRIAL OFFICE providing automation solutions for the Process, Utilities and Manufacturing sectors.
