Ready to install for fast integration
Nabtesco precision gearboxes are completely sealed gear units. They are filled with grease, encapsulated and ready for installation. To reduce the design and assembly costs, we integrate the motor adapter plate and the motor shaft coupling for servo motors in the precision gearboxes. The precision gearboxes are based on our different component sets – with a hollow shaft or solid shaft – and their design features bring numerous advantages.

Precise, reliable and powerful
Nabtesco component sets stand for maximum precision, extremely low vibrations and low inertia. Our ingenious two-stage cycloidal design makes the gears insensitive to shock loads and allows high torques. The force transmission via rollers guaranteed high efficiency ratio of up to 85 percent and a long service life. The component sets of the RV-C and RV-N series also feature integrated angular ball bearings. Hence, there is no need for the customer to provide bearings, as well as the manufacturing costs for the bearing mounts.

The RV series forms the basic version of our component sets and therefore the basis for our entire product spectrum. It stands for high reduction ratios and low backlash. The output bearings can be defined individually.- Extremely compact design

Rotary indexers: Strong, precise and compact

Rotary indexer or positioner?
Rotary indexers and positioners are additional external robot axes for positioning of workpieces. A positioner normally has several axes, for example one for turning and one for pivoting the workpieces. The rotary movement is generally carried out by rotary indexers. Rotary indexers are therefore often installed as components in positioners. If the application requires a pivot axis, the tables can also be used separately. Conventional rotary indexers are usually equipped with worm gearboxes, which show signs of wear over time, due to their inherent design. Cycloidal gearboxes on the other hand are designed to operate with very little wear and with extremely low backlash of less than one arcminute. Even after extended periods the increase in backlash is negligible.
The two-stage reduction ratio of cycloidal gearboxes is what makes Nabtesco solutions so successful. The reason: The speed is reduced by the double cam. The two-stage reduction principle and the low mass inertia minimize vibrations. In addition, the eccentric roller construction achieves very even distribution of the force, which ensures minimal hysteresis losses and enormous resistance to shock loads.

We developed the gearheads of the RS gearboxes especially for positioning very heavy loads. The robust precision gearboxes with a hollow shaft are designed for axial loads up to 9 t and feature a compact construction, outstanding torque performance, and high positioning accuracy. These features make the RS gearboxes ideal not only for use in rotary indexers and positioners, but also present a real alternative to conventional rotary indexers.

Lubricants
RV Oil SB150
- Perfect for high RPMs: We have responded to the request of numerous customers for an oil as a high-performance alternative to lubricating grease and we now offer RV Oil SB150, a synthetic gear oil that perfectly fulfils the requirements of the market. In collaboration with users and one of Germany’s renowned research institutes we developed the lubricating oil with consideration for high-speed applications, long-term stability and use at high temperatures. These requirements were verified through extensive testing and analysis, as well as numerous field tests. The gear oil features a significantly better thermal capacity than lubricating grease and enables the homogeneous distribution of heat in the gear – which produces an efficient cooling effect. RV Oil SB150 is available in pack sizes of 20 l and 200 l as well as in IBCs with 1000 l.
Vigogrease RE 0
- State of the art: Vigogrease RE 0 is the advanced development of our lubricant Molywhite RE 00. Like the time-proven Molywhite, Vigogrease RE 0 is a combination of synthetic and mineral oils, in addition to lithium grease EP additives. Due to the new, optimised formula, however, Vigogrease RE 0 has a higher viscosity. This allowed us to improve the shear stability and the thermal behaviour of the gearbox. Despite the high viscosity, the starting efficiency of Vigogrease has increased by 5 % over that of Molywhite.
RV Grease LB00
- Top-class high-performance grease: RV Grease LB00 is a further development of our lubricant Vigogrease RE 0. It offers an increased performance level and has been optimised in particular with regard to smooth running properties, low-temperature characteristics and durability. RV Grease LB00 is a combination of lithium soap, synthetic hydrocarbon oil, mineral oil and various additives. The special additive ensures excellent lubrication performance over a wide range of applications (temperature, speed, load) and ensures smooth running and a long service life of the cycloidal gear. Flawless operation is guaranteed even at low temperatures.
Molywhite Grease RE 00

Our classic: The Nabtesco lubricant Molywhite Grease RE 00 is an EP lithium-based grease with excellent wear resistance. It is based on a combination of synthetic and mineral oils with an organic molybdenum compound. The lubricant features an excellent pressure profile. Due to its low viscosity, Molywhite RE 00 easily flows into every crevice of the RV gear’s complex lubrication system. This ensures high performance of the gearbox for increased efficiency and a longer life.
Since 2008 we fill our gearboxes only with the Molywhite successor Vigogrease RE 0. However, you can still purchase Molywhite Grease RE 00 from us! In addition, used Molywhite can be mixed with Vigogrease.
