BLOHM has specially designed the MC7 for those markets where multi-face machining of complex workpieces in just a single clamping operation is demanded. The high-performance spindle, which allows speeds of up to 12,000 rpm, and the large working area make the grinding center ideal for applications such as turbine vanes and blades are for use in the aviation and energy industry.

The P360 coolant nozzle technology combined with various axis combinations allows to create new opportunities in grinding of complex geometries. The optional Tool changer ensures less operator intervention, and the continuous dressing process enables high material removal rates with high profile accuracy over long cuts. Several options for coolant supply will guarantee highest results in quality and productivity.

The machine can be loaded from the front, the top and from the side to run all kinds of automated processes.

The PLANOMAT XT combines several technologies in one machine: It can be used for traverse and deep grinding as well as rapid stroke grinding with the optional linear direct drive (LDA) in the X axis.

For large batch sizes and series production

Are you looking for a grinding solution for the production of large lot sizes or batch production? Then the PROFIMAT RT could be the right machine for you. This highly efficient production machine with a traveling column design is equipped with a rotary indexing table. This enables workpiece handling in parallel with the primary processing time, i.e. continuous, simultaneous loading and unloading during the grinding process. Low setup costs combined with high efficiency and the possibility of simple adaptation of automatic workpiece change systems set benchmarks in modern and cost-effective production.

With a maximum spindle power of 60 kW and a cutting speed of up to 170 m/s, the RT is ideally suited for both conventional grinding and for CD, IPD and all CBN grinding processes.

The comprehensive range of accessories combined with the modular PROFIMAT XT system (sizes from 400x800 to 600x2000mm) makes this new machine generation an optimal grinding machine for all customers.

In addition to high-quality machine elements such as ground ball linear drive, optimized ductile cast iron and precision guidelines, this generation offers the operator a completely new user interface. The three-part control panel now offers customizable screen areas. The information relevant to the required work steps can be programmed and retrieved for the specific customer. The possibilities offered here range from component diagrams, 3D models, user manuals and electric diagrams to GripsProfile, Blohm's proprietary programming system for profiling of grinding wheels. This area also offers the possibility to call up screens for coolant, statuses and process monitoring based on the Industry 4.0 concept.

The compact production solution

Whether precision, profile, internal or external cylindrical grinding – the PROFIMAT MC is a highly efficient grinding centre for any application. This extremely compact traveling-column machine offers everything that modern production solutions require, with a machine width of just 2000 mm. Different spindle variants enable diverse applications: The five-axis CNC profile grinding machines in the series can optionally be equipped with a horizontal spindle for drive capacities up to 60 kW as well as a stationary or an NC-swiveling vertical spindle with grinding spindle speeds of up to 60,000 revolutions per minute.

With a maximum cutting speed of 170 m/s, traveling-column machines are suitable for both conventional grinding tasks and for CD, IPD and all CBN methods. Equipped with the relevant accessories - such as automatic tooling change, for example – the PROFIMAT MC is even suitable for combination machining.

With the aid of the professional Sinumerik 840D CNC control system from Siemens, virtually any grinding task is possible.
