      • C-Series

      • The new Almatec C-Series AODD pumps are a cost-effective alternative to plastic pumps for all pumping tasks. The distinctive and proven solid design provides the mass needed for an oscillating pump.

The wetted housing parts are made of either abrasion-resistant polyethylene (PE) or chemically almost universally resistant PTFE. In addition, conductive versions with ATEX conformity according to directive 2014/34/EU are available. The material of the non-wetted center block is polyethylene or PE conductive. The three sizes C 10 (3/8"), C 15 (1/2") and C 25 (1") achieve max. flow rates of 1.3/ 3.1/7 m³/h at a total head up to 7 bar.

The housing parts of the C-Series are tightened to each other via housing bolts. However, instead of single bolts pressing punctually against the housing, all housing bolts are tightened together against a diaphragm-sized ring per side. This structure transmits the forces of the housing bolts into the housing parts evenly. A consistent flow of forces and an increased bolt torque are the effect of this construction - ultimately increasing pump safety.

The features of the C-Series at a glance:

        • Air-operated double-diaphragm pump available in three sizes C 10 (3/8"), C 15 (½") and C 25 (1")

      • BIOCOR

      • BIOCOR Air-Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) Pumps by Almatec

Designed for sterile applications within the pharmaceutical, biotechnical and food industry

The ALMATEC BIOCOR air-operated double diaphragm pump series is especially designed for sterile applications within the pharmaceutical, biotechnical and food industry. The air-operated diaphragm pumps are EHEDG certificated as well as EC1935/2004 and ATEX conform. The special design with the integrated cleaning-system enables the CIP (clean in place) and SIP (sterilization in place) capability.
Always a demand for sterile applications: all housing parts of the BIOCOR pumps show no horizontal areas. Each pump comes with four ball lifting magnets, which can be attached to the pump housing from the outside at the location of the four ball valves. The ball valves are risen up magnetically out of their seats and the pump is drained entirely without having to be dismounted. There are no mechanical ball lifters with parts and seals in the wetted area (ball lifting magnets for B 20 and B 32 only).
The three pump sizes B 20, B 32 and B 40 achieve max. capacities of 3.5/7.5/17 m³/h (15.4/33/75 gpm) resp. a max. discharge pressure up to 7 bar (100 psig). The material for the wetted housing parts is electro polished SS 316 L (Basel Standard II, ferrit content < 1%) with a surface roughness of ≤ 0.4 μm. The center block is made of polyethylene conductive.

      • FUTUR

      • FUTUR Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps (AODD) by Almatec

Designed for chemical supply and circulation for the semiconductor industry

Since 1984 ALMATEC manufactures special pumps for the chemical supply and circulation in the semiconductor industry. The FUTUR series is particularly developed for the special requirements of these applications.
The liquids handled in the semiconductor industry set different demands to the pumps. Therefore the FUTUR series is available in four materials:

        • 4 sizes made of PTFE/UPPE for acids and caustics up to 130°C/266°F (model FUTUR T)
        • 2 sizes made of PTFE for hot applications with acids and caustics up to 200°C/390°F (model FUTUR H)
        • 4 sizes made of UPPE for slurries (model FUTUR E)
        • 2 sizes made of stainless steel (SS 316 L) for solvents (model SLS)
      • AHD/AHS – AODD pumps for high-pressure applications

      • Almatec® AHD and AHS Series Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm Pumps have been specially designed for the safe operation of high-pressure applications up to 15 bar (218 psig).

AHD high-pressure pumps come equipped with an internal pressure booster. With a maximum drive pressure of 7 bar (100 psig), they can build up discharge pressures up to 15 bar (218 psig). The “D” in AHD stands for Duplex, which means the reinforcement of the drive pressure is more than 2:1 by the internal pressure boosting stage. AHD Series pumps are available in three sizes (AHD 15, 25 and 40) with maximum capacities of 4, 10 und 20 m³/h (17, 44 and 87 gpm). A typical application of these pumps includes filter press feeding.

Available in two sizes (AHS 15 and 25), AHS Series pumps do not include an internal pressure booster. The extremely rugged construction of the pump makes it suitable for higher discharge pressures. The maximum driving and discharge pressure is 15 bar (218 psig). This makes the AHS Series an ideal solution for every application under heavy load conditions, from low discharge pressures variable to high-pressure applications. The “S” in AHS stands for Simplex, meaning the drive pressure is transferred to the medium in a ratio of 1:1. Due to the 1:1 ratio of the drive/discharge pressure, the corresponding air pressure has to be supplied from the compressor itself or an external pressure booster, also offered by Almatec.

Users who need a high discharge pressure of 15 bar (218 psig) – no matter whether it is with an AHD pump with internal pressure transmission or an AHS pump that achieves the discharge pressure by means of an external booster – can do so with peace of mind that the pump has been specially designed for such pressure ranges and does not have to be held together by external reinforcements.

      • CXM

      • CXM General Purpose Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps by Almatec

Designed as general-purpose pumps for low to medium duty and also as drum pumps

ALMATEC CXM series of AODD pumps are used as general-purpose pumps for low to medium duty and also as drum pumps.

The new CXM series is available in four pump sizes with NPT and three pump sizes with BSP connections. This is possible thanks to the modular design of the pumps. The position of the suction and discharge ports of the NPT models can be changed by rotating the center block. The product connections of the BSP pumps sizes 25, 55 and 135 are located on the face side of the pump.

      • MM Series

      • MM Series air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps have specifically designed to meet the strict standards, regulations and operational requirements that govern the food and beverage industry thanks to their use of food-grade wetted materials and a construction that provides easy cleaning.

Additionally, MM Series pumps also feature soft redirections without rotating parts and shaft seals in the product chamber. This design feature, when combined with the pump’s gentle displacement principle, results in a pumping solution that is ideally suited for a wide variety of food and beverage applications.

The MM Series’ housing is made from stainless steel 1.4404 (SS316L) and the pump’s wetted surfaces are available with a surface roughness of max. 3.2 µm. An optional version with a surface roughness of 0.8 µm is also available. The MM Series’ materials and design enable clean-in-place (CIP) and sanitize-in-place (SIP) capability. All the pump’s materials comply with the hygienic standards of the FDA, and pumps equipped with PTFE diaphragms and ball valves also comply with EC1935/2004. In addition, the pumps are ATEX conforming according to the 2014/34/EU directive.

        • QF 20K
    • Industries

        • Chemical

        • The Chemical Industry and Almatec

The chemical industry (chemieincluding the pharmaceuticals industry) is one of the classic areas of application for ALMATEC pneumatic diaphragm pumps. Their outstanding characteristics (safety, quality, reliability, solid construction, self-priming and dry-operation capabilities, etc.) play a large role in the transportation of media that often exhibit corrosive, hazardous, toxic, or explosive properties – like acids, bases, solvents, and chemical mixtures. The plastic pumps of the E-SERIES with the PE (abrasion-resistant) and PTFE (almost universally chemically resistant) material options, as well as their conductive versions for ATEX applications, cover an essential part of the chemical industry's pump needs.
        • Solar

        • The Solar Industry and Almatec

The value of the solar or photovoltaic industry in the world economy is increasing rapidly due to the growing importance of renewable energies. The Almatec E-SERIES air-operated diaphragm pumps, which do not use any metal on their exterior, are considered to be especially well suited for use in the manufacture of silicon solar cells (wafers) in particular. Possible areas of application in this industry include using pumps made of abrasion-resistant polyethylene for the pumping of slurry before and after the silicon sawing process, as well as chemical treatment of the wafers (using pumps made of PTFE).
        • Semiconductor

        • The Semiconductor Industry and Almatec

The production of semiconductors places especially high demands on a pump. In addition to the special challenges posed by the fairly high temperatures sometimes encountered, particularly for plastics, terms like purity and safety gain a whole new meaning. The completely metal-free Almatec FUTUR pump series is an essential requirement in this case. The supply of high-purity chemicals and their circulation and filtration, as well as the pumping of abrasive slurries and solvents are typical areas of application in the semiconductor industry. Examples of high-purity chemicals that Almatec pumps can successfully handle include H2SO4, HCl, HNO3, H3PO4, HF and H2O2.
        • Ceramic

        • The Ceramic Industry and Almatec

In the ceramic industry, pumps are needed to transport sludge and glazes, among other uses. An important criterion in the selection of a suitable pump in this case is the abrasion-resistance of the pump materials. An optional material in the solidly constructed Almatec E-SERIES AODD pump is polyethylene. Studies conducted when utilizing the sand slurry method have confirmed that PE has an abrasion resistance that is seven times higher than that of polypropylene PP) — which is often used as a material in pumps — and 1.6 times higher than that of steel. PE also has higher wear-resistance than cast iron or aluminum, for example.
        • Hygienic

        • The Hygienic Industry and Almatec

The term hygienic refers in particular to sterile processes used in the biopharmaceutical industry. Examples of products handled in these applications include active pharmaceutical and biotechnical ingredients, cosmetics, and live cultures. The pumps used in these sterile applications must meet corresponding hygienic standards (EHEDG, 3A, FDA, USP Class VI) and require SIP and CIP capabilities. The Almatec BIOCOR AODD pump line with their high surface quality and the ability to trace the materials used meet these required criteria.
        • Paint and Varnish

        • The Paint and Varnish Industry and Almatec

To pump paint and varnish, a pump generally needs to conform to the ATEX directive. The ATEX versions of the Almatec CHEMICOR line of metal pumps meet these requirements. For UV varnishes, there are E-SERIES pumps made of conductive plastic available. Due to the high pressures encountered, Almatec high pressure diaphragm pumps made of stainless steel (AH-S) are used in painting systems where there is only one pump as a central supply. The time required to clean the pump when changing colors is just as low as the amount of cleaning agent needed for cleaning.
        • Surface Technology

        • The Surface Technology Industry and Almatec

The process chemicals used in surface technology place high requirements on materials and technologies used in the equipment operated in this industry. The media transported range from highly concentrated acids and bases to abrasive slurries. Air-operated double diaphragm pumps from the Almatec E-SERIES line are used in this case to pump etching agents as well as in grinding and drilling emulsions. Sludge can be compacted for disposal purposes using AH Series high-pressure pumps in a filter press.
        • Paper

        • The Paper Industry and Almatec

In the paper and printing industries, air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps are primarily used to transport glues and printing inks. In many cases, a glue application pump of average size and made of PE from the E-SERIES is used. In the case of printing inks, Almatec pumps with a draining system offer numerous advantages. The colors must not be allowed to mix during a color change. The draining system allows the pump and pipeline to be emptied without disassembly. The color flows back into the supply container (saving money), and the amount of cleaning agent and solvent required is significantly reduced, thereby reducing the impact on the environment.
        • Water Treatment

        • The Water Treatment Industry and Almatec

In industrial water-treatment applications, the Almatec pneumatic diaphragm pumps are used for the following tasks, among others: taking samples for analysis around the clock, wastewater neutralization and feeding filter presses with sludge. While sample-taking and the proportioning of neutralization chemicals are done primarily using E-SERIES and CHEMICOR pumps, the Almatec high pressure pumps of the AH series are available for filter-press feeding. These pumps allow operation over the entire range of flow rates without a risk of overpressure and without any additional regulation due to their ability to automatically adjust the pressure/quantity.
      • Technology

          • State-of-the-Art

          • State-of-the-Art Pneumatic Diaphragm Pumps by Almatec

Since its founding in 1984, Almatec Maschinenbau GmbH has concentrated on continuously defining the current state-of-the-art in pneumatic (air-operated) diaphragm pumps via extensive product enhancements and innovations.

            2009 E-Series
Based on the extensive experience with the A-Series pumps, the E-Series plastic air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump was developed in 2009. The result and the name capture the spirit of Almatec's vision: E = economic, efficient, ecological.
            • further increased pump safety due to innovative ring-tightening structure
            • increased capacity
            • decreased air consumption
            • reduced noise level
            • optimized flow pattern
            • pulsation damper suitable for flange connection
          • Diaphragms

          • Almatec Diaphragms

The Heart of Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps

The surface of the Almatec diaphragms is smooth and not interrupted by any seals whatsover. Due to the integrated metal core, they do not require diaphragm discs that can frequently gives rise to leaks and attract dirt. The diaphragms are produced in priming position; this simplifies assembly and almost completely eliminates the dead space on the air side, since the inner side of the diaphragms rests against the central housing in the limit position, thus optimizing efficiency and reducing air consumption.
          • Materials

          • Pneumatic Diaphragm Pump Materials

Solid Body Design for Strength and Smooth Operation

An important construction element in Almatec air-operated diaphragm pumps is the solid body design. Only a solid plastic body can support the necessary weight for an oscillating pump. The individual components can be designed, so that the required wall thicknesses are arranged where they are needed. The mechanical machining of a solid plastic block is economical thanks modern CNC technology, enabling tight tolerances to be achieved. The high static mass leads to smooth operation and eliminates the need for unnecessary external metal parts that otherwise be used for reinforcement. In all Almatec pumps, only virgin PE and PTFE, produced in Germany, are used.

          • Air Control System

          • Almatec’s Air Control System

Zero Maintenance with the PERSWING P® air control system

The purpose of the pneumatic diaphragm pump air control system is to ensure automatic operation that is indirectly controlled by the movement of the diaphragms. Reaching its final point, the stroke reverses automatically and the cycle of medium being drawn in by one diaphragm and being displaced by the other is repeated by the opposite side of the pump.
