    • Pressure

    • Pressure gauges, pressure sensors and pressure switches from Kobold

Kobold Messring GmbH has quickly established itself in the area of pressure monitoring and pressure measurement of plants. Different pressure gauges are used in a wide variety of plants worldwide and are persuading by their reliability and their low measuring tolerances. Pressure gauges can be used both for monitoring the pressure and for pressure-dependent control of plants and processes. Thanks to modern and functional pressure switches, many processes in the industry can be reliably pressure-controlled automated. This is not only a mean of optimizing the process, but in many cases also of safety, since an overpressure in the system can be reliably detected and remedied by the pressure measuring devices and pressure switches. Various pressure gauges and pressure sensors operate with relative pressure, absolute pressure, as a differential pressure gauge and raise the pressure monitoring to a new level.

        • These Solid-front instruments are built in accordance with safety specifications of EN 837.1 and ASME B40.1. The safety construction consists of a solid separating wall in stainless steel, placed between the scale and the elastic element and a blow out back which is released from the case whenever an internal pressure, due to leaks, is created or the elastic element is broken.

A leak tight fit is ensured if the instrument is filled with a dampening fluid to prevent damage due to vibration. These instruments are designed for use in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cryogenic, chemical and petrochemical processing industries, and in conventional and nuclear power plants. They are built to resist the most severe operating conditions created by the ambient environment and the process medium.#

      • Level

      • Level indication or continuous measurement

Within the scope of the automation of industrial processes, monitoring of filling levels is an important issue for liquids as well as for bulk solids. Float switches and level indicators from Kobold Messring GmbH work extremely reliably within a defined tolerance range. Level indicators and level sensors can be adapted to a wide range of liquids and environments, and can also be used in environments with heavily polluted fluids. The data of the level indicators can either be read directly on the display, or can be integrated into the various control and monitoring systems by means of a measuring transducer and a BUS interface. Thanks to the wide selection of different level measuring devices and level switches, monitoring and measurement of the most varied filling levels can be carried out reliably at any time.

KOBOLD bypass level switches of model NBA/NBE are used when, for example, level monitoring in the bypass is needed due to lack of space (with agitators) or at high temperatures. The instrument comprises a metal housing with internally mounted magnetic level switch and operates on the principle of communicating tubes.

As soon as the housing of the bypass level switch is filled about half way with liquid, the float moves to the top and operates with the internal ring magnet a changeover contact fitted in the measuring tube. Solenoid valves, signal lamps or pumps are switched by the changeover contact by means of suitable electrical auxiliaries (relay, contactor relay).

          • For liquids

The plastic level switch NKP is designed for economical control of liquids in vessels. Many industrial applications can be realized with two different plastic versions each with three different mountings. The switch is remarkable for its maintenance-free design, small dimensions and reed contacts with high switch capacity.

The switch is mounted on the side of the vessel. A hinged plastic float with a magnet floats up and down through the liquid level. The encapsulated reed contact is operated by the magnet. The switching function (N/O contact / N/C contact) is determined by the installation position. The switching function is reversed by simply rotating the switch through 180°.

          • Level Switch NV

          • For liquids

The KOBOLD level switch model NV is a reasonably-priced compact instrument for monitoring levels. A stainless steel cylindrical float attached to one end of a balance arm moves up and down with the liquid level. The motion of the float is transferred to a permanent magnet fitted at the other end of the balance arm.

The permanent magnet switches a reed contact that is fitted in a sliding tube outside the medium. The tube is set as a N/O contact at the factory, that is, the contact closes when the level rises. The switching function is reversed by moving the tube. The instruments are delivered in standard sleeves for side installation. PTFE tape is used to seal the switch.
