  • What is biogas?

  • Biogas is a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide, as well as water vapour, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen, ammonia and hydrogen sulphide, and is the end-product of an anaerobic fermentation process. It can be obtained from manure and other organic substances. In a system known as a digester, which is heated and airtight, micro-organisms break down the biomass at a temperature of between 35°C and 55°C.
    How does a biogas plant work?

    The principle is quite simple. Biogas is produced in a digester and is then converted into electrical energy and heat in a CHP unit. Our latest developments allow refined raw biogas to be fed into local gas networks. The fermented residue can be utilised as a valuable fertiliser. The energy produced represents an important contribution to active environmental protection, because it is derived from renewable materials.

          • MegaFerm

          • MegaFerm systems have been deployed with great success throughout the world since 1999 by our sister company, the world-renowned Krieg & Fischer Ingenieure GmbH. These systems are rated at 500 kWel to 5 MWel and above, and are used by agricultural and industrial customers. Thanks to their innovative central agitation technology, a wide range of substrates can be converted into electrical and thermal energy. Gas can of course be fed directly into natural gas and microgas networks. MegaFerm systems have excellent inherent insulation and can be used both in regions with extremely high ambient temperatures, and in sub-zero climates.

          • Personal consultation | Working onsite, we record all of the variables such as production costs, available input materials, and areas.
          • Feasibility study | Based on all the data, we will produce for you a profitability calculation including all of the relevant figures. (investment amount, break-even analysis, ROI, financial and liquidity planning, and so on).
          • Decision | This calculation will give you a solid foundation upon which to make a decision about the construction and operation of your biogas plant.

          Ready to use, on schedule, clean.

          Once you have made a decision on the basis of our profitability calculation, we can begin immediately to build your biogas plant. Each step of this is planned very carefully, ensuring smooth progress. Once the final system size has been decided on, we can produce for you a precise building schedule.
