SEMTECH® EFM-HS
High Speed Exhaust Flow Meter
- Sensors’ High Speed Exhaust Flow Meter, the SEMTECH EFM-HS,
adds exciting capabilities and features to the product line. With a sampling
rate of up to 2500 Hz and four, dual stage differential pressure
transducers, the EFM-HS accurately measures every forward and reverse flow
pulsation from idle to maximum flow rate, and properly accounts for these
pulsations in the exhaust flow determination. This is a tremendous advantage
over low speed exhaust flowmeters which are susceptible to measurement error
from high frequency pulsations. The EFM-HS also offers a long list of other
performance enhancements and convenience features that set it apart from the

SEMTECH®-PPMD
Portable Particulate Measurement Device
- The Portable Particulate Measurement Device, the
SEMTECH-PPMD, is the only portable system that directly measures the mass of
exhaust particulates under real world conditions, with nanogram sensitivity.
The unit integrates three key, patented subsystems from the SEMTECH product
line, into a single self contained unit: the Exhaust Flow Meter (EFM), the
Micro Proportional Sample System (MPS), and the Carousel Quartz Crystal
Micro balance (CQCM). When used in conjunction with the SEMTECH-DS, Sensors’

SEMTECH®-FS
Filter System
- The SEMTECH Filter System is a portable gravimetric
sampling system used to measure the mass of exhaust particulates. It can be
used either for in-use
applicati onsor in test cells, while meeting requirements of US EPA 1065.
The system consists of a cyclonic separator to remove coarse particles,
three traditional 47 mm filter holders, a mass flow controller to adjust
filter face velocity, a high capacity vacuum pump, pneumatic ball valves to
engage filters, downstream isolation solenoids, and an optional heated
sample line. All wetted surfaces are stainless-steel, heated to 47°C. The
system can be operated from the built-in interface panel, or optionally
through the SEMTECH-DS host soft ware where sampling can be automated
based on NTE signals, engine RPM, exhaust flow rate, or other user-defined
parameters.

SEMTECH®-MPS
Micro Proportional Dilution System
- SEMTECH Micro Proportional Dilution System (MPS) is a
small and robust partial flow dilution system that meets the requirements of
both US EPA CFR40, part 1065 and ISO 16183. It can be used in conjunction
with an exhaust flow meter as a proportional diluter, or as a constant
dilution system.
The SEMTECH MPS controls the dilution air flow by employing a multi-bit
parallel solenoid array. Each solenoid is fitted with a critical flow
orifice to provide precise and repeatable flow characteristics. This
patented flow technology can be operated at speeds up to 10Hz, providing a
near instantaneous adjustment of sample flow. A signal from an exhaust flow
meter is used to provide the proportional sampling requirements.

SEMTECH®-CQCM
Carousel Quartz Crystal Microbalance
- SEMTECH CQCM is a crystal microbalance designed for
continuous mass measurement of exhaust particulates. The system is comprised
of eight crystals, each oscillating at 10 kHz. As the exhaust sample is
pumped past one of the oscillating crystals, a corona discharge generates an
electrostatic force, driving the particulates to collect on the crystal
surface. As the particulates accumulate, the natural frequency of the
crystal changes in relation to the mass.

FID 2000MP
Flame-Ionisation-Detector
- The FID 2000MP analyzes hydrocarbons in SHED chambers of
varying dimensions. For applications over 2.5 m3, we recommend an analyzer
with a heated bypass system to ensure accurate response times. For smaller
SHED chambers, we offer an analyzer that minimizes the air change rate in

- Using Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technology, the
Automotive Microbench (AMB II™) measures levels of CO, CO2 and HC in engine
exhaust. The AMBII exceeds all current recognized international
specifications, including California's BAR97, OIML Class 0, and ISO3930.
With a low voltage supply requirement, compact size, and flexible sample

Smoke Meter (LCS™)
Determines the opacity of diesel exhasut gas
- The LCS is a light weight, partial stream smoke meter
that determines the opacity of diesel exhaust gas. Its unique
air-knife-system guarantees stable and reliable measurements while
minimizing maintenance. The LCS uses the partial-stream measuring technique,
which provides for direct and continuous measurement of the smoke sample.
The light source is a pulsed green LED with a peak at 560nm. The detector is
a solid state GaAs device and is heated to 43°C to temperature compensate
the output signal.
