    • With their sealless design, the MKPL and MKPL-S magnetic drive pumps are built to meet the complex requirements of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, even at high temperatures.

      Their casing has a thick, heavy-duty, corrosion- and permeation-resistant PFA lining positively, mechanically locked into the metal armour, ensuring vacuum resistance. This armour absorbs all mechanical stresses resulting from system pressure or piping nozzle loads.

      • Stainless Steel Magnetic Drive Biotech Process Pump

      • The sealless MKP-Bio magnetic drive pump has been engineered especially for sterile fluid handling in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food industries.

        As the MKP-Bio has no shaft seal, microorganisms cannot penetrate into the pump interior. Torque is transmitted by an inverted magnetic drive coupling. With its special design, the MKP-Bio does not require a plain bearing carrier. Optimum lubrication and cooling of the single, centrally located impeller bearing assembly with the process fluid gives the pump excellent running characteristics. The impeller rotates stably about a stationary axis on the gyroscopic principle, maintaining a perfect hydraulic balance. This minimises bearing loads, increasing the reliability of operation.

          • IL-BTO: The very robust casing protects the pump against abrasion caused by solids particles. Due to the vertical in-line design, solid particles settle at the bottom of the casing when the pump is not running, keeping them away from the mechanical seal. When the pump is restarted, there are no particles around the mechanical seal, thus extending the seal life.

            KTP: Designed as a cantilever pump for use in combination with an injector or as a normal sump, this model is generally employed to pump fluid out of a main storage tank through the injector into a feed tank, where the pump is mounted. From there, the KTP pumps the medium into the plant’s piping system.

            ZMP: This pump grinds, chops, macerates, mixes and pumps multiphase media all at the same time. Teeth on the rotor and casing liner reduce the solids in the medium to a defined maximum particle size. Slots and holes allow both coarse suspensions to be pumped and soft particles to be broken up.

                        • Energy Efficient System Planning

                        • New systems
                          Competent planning of new pumping systems to minimise energy consumption is one of the keys to reducing life cycle costs (LCC). Some energy use may not be output-dependent. For example, a control system sensing output changes may itself generate a constant energy load, whereas a variable speed drive can consume different levels of energy at different operating settings. Throttle valves, pressure relief mechanisms and flow bypasses used for control will all reduce operating efficiency and increase energy consumption. Additional costs may be caused by cooling or heating circuits, liquid flush lines or fluid barrier arrangements. While such costs often do not vary for different types of systems, they can be influenced by the selection of materials and designs.

                        • Selecting new CP pumps
                          Competent selection of new pumps to minimise energy consumption is one of the keys to reducing pump life cycle costs (LCC). Choosing sealless magnetic drive pumps over pumps with mechanical seals not only offers significant safety advantages; they often consume less energy as well, especially when fitted with non-metallic containment shells that eliminate eddy current losses. CP offers a wide range of different pump models and casings, containment shells and bearing materials to best suit the most diverse system requirements, while ensuring maximum safety and energy efficiency.
                        • Energy Efficient Impellers

                        • Custom impellers of new CP pumps
                          On average, pumps fitted with trimmed impellers are up to 10% more efficient than ones with standard impellers because the outside impeller diameter is reduced to exactly match the specific system requirements. Trimming impellers on standardised pumps is a cost-saving and effective way to cut power consumption. With an impeller trimmed to match the specified duty point, a pump will operate at its best efficiency point. Added to that, custom impellers maintain efficiency across wider load ranges and help reduce pump life cycle costs.

                        • Energy Efficient Containment Shells

                        • Non-metallic containment shell of CP’s magnetic drive pumps
                          CP offers a non-metallic containment shell for its MKP series as a cost neutral solution to improve the energy efficiency of magnetic drive pumps by eliminating eddy current losses. Compared to conventional metallic containment shells, this gives users of CP’s MKP pumps the following benefits:
                          • No eddy current losses arise in the containment shell during operation.
                          • Lower energy requirements by replacing outdated mechanical seal chemical process pumps with sealless MKP pumps without changing the motor power requirements.
                          • The efficiency of existing CP pumps can be significantly increased by replacing current containment shells with non-metallic ones.
                          • As pumps with non-metallic containment shells require less energy, smaller motors can be used, which in turn reduces costs.
                          • CP's non-metallic containment shells have the same dimensions as metallic containment shells so retrofitting is possible.
                          • The non-metallic containment shell is designed for PN16 or PN25 pressure ratings. It has good chemical resistance and can be used at temperatures up to 200°C.
                          • Use of a non-metallic containment shell does not generate extra costs.
