      Technosoft's iPOS line of intelligent drives is based on a new design concept that has resulted in cost-effective, compact, modular solutions to the position, speed and torque control of rotary or linear brushless, DC brush, and step motors. Designed to cover both low-volume and high-volume applications, the iPOS intelligent drives integrate all basic motor control functions and motion control features in a single module. 

      With the development of the new iPOS intelligent drives family, Technosoft has also extended the concept of distributed motion control. Now you can split the motion application between the iPOS drives and the EtherCAT or CANopen master. Using TML (Technosoft's motion programming language), you can build complex motion applications locally, on each drive, leaving only the high level of motion application on the EtherCAT or CANopen master, and thus reducing the network master’s complexity. The master supervises the entire motion application, while the specific tasks are executed by the iPOS drives.

          Technosoft's iPOS line of intelligent drives is based on a new design concept that has resulted in cost-effective, compact, modular solutions to the position, speed and torque control of rotary or linear brushless, DC brush, and step motors. Designed to cover both low-volume and high-volume applications, the iPOS intelligent drives integrate all basic motor control functions and motion control features in a single module. 

          With the development of the new iPOS intelligent drives family, Technosoft has also extended the concept of distributed motion control.           The iPOS3602 line of drives is based on a new design concept that has resulted in cost-effective, compact and modular solutions for the control of rotary or linear brushless, DC brush, and step motors of powers up to 75 W, and rated voltages of up to 36 V. They integrate all the basic motor control functions and the motion control functionality on a single module. A series of I/O signals, both digital and analogue, are available for easy interfacing with the application. iPOS3602 offer flexible and modular solutions at various levels: plug-in vertical (VX model) or horizontal (MX model) open PCBs that can be either integrated onto the user’s motherboard, or protected by a metal cover and provided with retractable connectors (horizontal with BX model, or vertical with HX model). Using this modular concept, the communication options of iPOS3602 drives (VX & MX models) can be extended using interface extension plug-ins for EtherCAT or Ethernet-to-CAN gateways.

          Thanks to the TML instructions set, the iPOS3602 intelligent drives are programmable at user’s level. In simple applications, such a unit can operate as a single-axis motion controller & drive in stand-alone mode, autonomously executing the program that resides in its non-volatile memory. In systems that require a host, an iPOS drive can operate as an intelligent slave – executing motion sequences triggered by input lines or commands received via RS-232 or CAN bus communication – or as a standard EtherCAT or CANopen drive.

          The iPOS4808 series offers flexible solutions, modular at various levels: vertical (VX model) or horizontal (MY model) plug-in cards, open-frame PCBs that can be integrated onto the user’s motherboard, or protected by a metal casing and provided with retractable connectors (BX model). Thanks to the TML instruction set, the iPOS4808intelligent drives are programmable at user’s level. In simple applications, such a unit can operate as a single-axis motion controller & drive in stand-alone mode, autonomously executing the program residing in its non-volatile memory. In systems that require a host, an iPOS4808 drive can operate as an intelligent slave, executing motion sequences triggered by input lines or commands received via a communication bus. 

          The iPOS4808 MY models support the functional safety requirements with 2 STO inputs offering the integrity level SIL3/Cat3/PLe that eases the integration of the Technosoft drive into safety related installations.

          The iPOS4808 drives can be quickly configured and tuned using one of Technosoft software platforms EasySetUp or EasyMotion Studio. EasySetUp is recommended when the motion programming is done exclusively via an external device (a PC / PLC using Technosoft motion libraries, a CANopen or an EtherCAT master), while EasyMotio Studio includes both drive setup and motion programming.

          The iPOS8010 and iPOS8020 intelligent drives are based on a new modular concept of panel-mounted drives, offering a very compact, cost-effective solution for the control of rotary or linear brushless, DC brush, and step motors of powers up to 800 W or 1600 W, with up to 80 V rated voltages.

          Using either CAN or EtherCAT as field bus, the iPOS8010 and iPOS8020 units embed motion controller, drive and PLC features into a single unit. The CAN versions can operate as standard CANopen drives, or as intelligent drives that can execute complex motion profiles, programmed directly at drive level with the high level Technosoft Motion Language (TML). As intelligent drives, they can perform many of the central unit's tasks, eliminating the need for such a device in many single or multi-axis applications. The EtherCAT versions can also operate as standard EtherCAT drives (CoE protocol) or as intelligent slaves that can independently execute complex motion functions from the drive's memory.

          Having 2 feedback connectors, the iPOS8010 and iPOS8020 drives can use both motor and load position in advanced dual-loop control algorithms that minimize the transmission backlash negative effects. Depending on the model, various combinations of incremental encoders (quad or sine/cosine), resolvers and absolute encoders (SSI, BiSS, EnDAT, Hiperface, Absolute A) can be used. An iPOS80x0 drive has drive enable inputs.

          The iPOS80x0 drives can be quickly configured and tuned using either of Technosoft's software platforms, EasySetUp or EasyMotion Studio. EasySetUp is recommended when motion programming is done exclusively via an external device (a PC or PLC using Technosoft motion libraries, a CANopen or EtherCAT master), while EasyMotio Studio includes both drive setup and motion programming using TML.

          iMOTIONCUBEs are extremely compact drives that customers can integrate in their designs as a plug-in module. They provide a cost-effective solution for the control of rotary or linear brushless, DC brush, and step motors of powers up to 1.6 kW, with up to 80 V rated voltages. Using as field bus either CAN or (in preparation) EtherCAT, they embed motion controller, drive and PLC features into a single unit.

      • The iMOT line of intelligent brushless and step motors combines an intelligent drive, a motor and a position sensor into a single unit. The result is a cost effective, compact solution that translates motion commands received through a communication channel into mechanical motion.
