Machines and Plants
Our control system offers the right CPU for any
application: from the compact control and ETV control panels to powerful
IPCs with Pentium technology. Scalability and consistency, this means that
the compatibility of the application software is a given. For the I/O
modules, three series and various models are available.
For perfect system communication, SIGMATEK relies on the hard real-time
capable, Ethernet-based VARAN bus.
SIGMATEK focuses on complete automation solutions with integrated drive
technology and a universal engineering environment – including Safety. The
engineering is therefore reduced and the performance and flexibility of your
machines are increased significantly.

CPU Modules
With the CPU modules from the DIAS series, compact and
economic controls for simple applications are provided. Depending on the
requirement, digital and analog I/Os are integrated. In addition, several
modules have an internal power supply.
|
 |
IPCs
The IPCs from SIGMATEK perform both control and
visualization tasks. The S-IPC and the
C-IPC were designed for high performance machines and find space in small
control cabinets with their compact design. The C-IPC can be used separately
or mounted directly on a C-DIAS module carrier.
|
 |
Control Panels
The ETV control panels and HGT robot operating units are
all-in-one panels. They unify control, visualization and operation in one
compact module. In the control cabinet, space is saved and the wiring is
reduced to a minimum.

Heating Technology
SIGMATEK supplies
manufacturers of biomass heating systems and heat pumps customer-specific
and tailor-made solutions. The heating controls are based on highly modern
industrial controls.
The central unit, boiler function module, diverse function modules and
operating units can be individually combined. All components can be easily
networked with one another and programmed with an engineering tool.
The modular construction allows the system to be expanded and additional
heating circuits, such as a solar installation, water, floor heating or
boiler and buffer management to be added. Thanks to the modern technology,
the cascading of heating systems is possible.
With intelligent heat distribution, the end user can optimize energy use.
Our heating technology experts support you in the implementation or your
project: from the conception through development and programming to the
initial start-up and service.
|
|
|
|
Heating Control
SIGMATEK has adapted the heating controls to the specific
industry requirements and the often confined installation conditions
directly on the controlled unit. The control can be freely programmed. With
the Engineering tool LASAL, the application is easily implemented. Our
engineers support you with extensive industry know-how. For operation,
several variations are available to choose from: From simple, monochrome
graphic displays to intelligent control panels with color touch displays
(3.5" to 19").

I/O Systems
The modular world of DIAS is multifaceted and opens up
almost inexhaustible possibilities. During development, we concentrate on
simple, flexible, safe, inexpensive and, most of all, extremely fast
solutions.
|
|
|
|
DIAS
The DIAS component series is the "classic" among the
SIGMATEK I/O systems. A DIAS I/O station consists of a terminal module
mounted on a DIN rail and a snap-on function module.
|
 |
C-DIAS
The C-DIAS component series impresses with an especially
compact form and high package density. The populated surface per I/O point
is only 1.9 cm². In this series, Safety components are also available.
|
 |
P-DIAS
The P-DIAS series expands the control system into the
IP67-protected area. They are ideal for the decentralized configuration of
control systems and can be combined as desired with other SIGMATEK component
series. In the field, analog as well as digital data can be collected or
distributed outside of the control cabinet.
|
|
|
|
MSR
The DIAS and C-DIAS I/O series offer different modules
for measuring technology tasks, such as recording the analog signals of a
measuring bridge, evaluating resistance bridges, recording voltages or
transsonic distance measuring modules.

Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI)
SIGMATEK offers a wide range of text and graphic
terminals for automation. During development particular attention was given
to creating a compact design with comfortable control features. An emphasis
was also placed on dependability and optimal connectivity to the system.
The selection of HMIs ranges from non-intelligent control terminals to panel
PCs with integrated CPUs as well as from two-line text terminals to high
resolution TFT color displays with up to 19”. The optimal and most economic
solution is available for any task.
For fast, flexible and dependable communication with the control or other
components, numerous interface connections are available. That range from
DIAS over VARAN to Ethernet and CAN. Customer specific front labels and
button layouts allow individual configuration of the terminal.
|
|
|
|
HMI without CPU
The Human-machine interfaces from SIGMATEK without an
integrated CPU are economic solutions for remote operation and monitoring of
automated systems. Optimal ergonomics, dependability and fault-free
usability are among the most important features. Mounting in the front of
the control closet or on a carrier arm system is possible.
|
 |
HMI with CPU
The intelligent terminals with integrated CPU combine
visualization and control in one device. Space-saving and cost effective
automation solutions for our customers is the outcome.
The wide spectrum of performance, sizes and graphic capabilities make the
intelligent HMIs from SIGMATEK extremely flexible.

Motion Control
SIGMATEK’s motion control system offers complete drive
solutions: motors, drives and software interact superbly and are fully
integrated into the SIGMATEK control system. The revolutionary VARAN bus
ensures extremely fast, hard real time capable and practically jitter-free
communication.
The advantages speak for themselves: Minimal space requirement through a
compact design, flexibility as well as highly dynamic, economic and reliable
servo applications. The consistency simplifies programming/parameterization
as well as operation and allows easy connection to the system. The
configuration data are stored in the control system so the drive always has
the correct parameters. The servo amplifier can therefore be exchanged
without the software tool. Using LASAL MOTION, the virtual connection of
leading axles, setting and execution of profiles as well as the coupling of
multiple axles and applications from flying saws to circular interpolation
is possible.
Since the LASAL CLASS project tool contains complete parameter sets for
drives and motors, start up time is reduced and errors are avoided.

DIAS Drive Series 100
DIAS Drive 100 is a very compact and modular servo drive
system with optimized power loss that was especially designed for multiaxial
applications. Per system, up to 8 servo axes are possible.
|
 |
DIAS Drive 300 Series
At the first glance, the most prominent feature of the
SIGMATEK drives is the compact design: up to three axles in one housing
saves space in the control cabinet. Not only this characteristic underlines
the economic efficiency of our drives: the functions are limited to current,
rotation speed and position control
|
 |
Servo Motors
The synchronous servomotors from the AKM series are
brushless, rotary current motors with three-phase windings for demanding
servo applications. These motors have permanent magnets in the rotor.

Safety
With C-DIAS Safety, the SIGMATEK control system is
expanded with safety functions through a decentralized configuration and
component modularity, existing systems can be easily expanded with Safety
functions. The basis of SIGMATEK Safety components are hardware solutions
that regularly monitor themselves to detect possible errors and put the
machine in a safe status if necessary. The entire system meets the IEC 61508
/ SIL3 / Ple standard.
The Safety components are fully integrated into the control system. With the
modular construction, Safe and non-Safe components can be combined as
desired. The individual requirements for various machine types can therefore
be met. The wiring is drastically reduced in comparison with classic safety
systems.
Also for communication, no additional wiring is needed. For both Safe and
non-Safe signals, only one bus system is used: The Ethernet-based, hard
real-time VARAN bus. For communication between the Safety components, the
"Black-Channel" principle is used in which the bus does not assume any
safety-relevant tasks but serves as a data exchange medium only.
|
|
|
|
Components
All Safety components can be decentrally configured and
combined with any module in the C-DIAS component series. They can be mounted
on any module carrier in the C-DIAS component series. The modules can be
exchanged quickly and easily.
|
 |
Motion Control
The SIGMATEK DIAS Drives have Safety functions (SIL 3)
according to EN ISO 13849 (Performance-Level “e”). In the various DIAS
Drives component series, common Safety functions such as Safe Stop 1 (SS1)
or Safe Torque Off (STO) are integrated.
|
 |
LASAL SAFETY Designer
Logic operations and I/O configurations can be created
comfortably. Predefined certified standard function blocks (logic blocks,
timers, counters, etc) and function blocks based on the PLCopen standard
simplify Safety programming and maintenance.

Real Time Ethernet VARAN
For control solutions, SIGMATEK employs the
Ethernet-based, hard real time capable VARAN bus using the client-manager
principle. Optimized for use in machine building, the VARAN bus meets all
the requirements of an industry network.
High speed, short cycle times, minimum synchronicity jitter and the best
data security are among the highlights. SIGMATEK offers VARAN managers as
well as VARAN clients: insert cards for PC, IPCs and CPUs with integrated
visualization, I/O and splitter modules, drive technology and client boards
for simple integration in peripheral modules are available.
The independent VARAN BUS USER ORGANIZATION abbreviated VNO (for
VARAN-BUS-NUTZERORGANISATION) offers a platform for communication and
cooperation for all interested groups. Controls manufacturers,
sensor/actuator and connector vendors as well as users from the machine
building industry are all using this opportunity to actively participate in
the design. The VNO retains all rights for the VARAN bus and continues
development, research and standardization.
