Swiss pump manufacturer CP Pumpen AG secured an order from chemical park operator InfraServ Knapsack for more than 30 pumps. The pumps will be deployed as part of an expansion of Bayer AG’s crop protection product plant located at the chemical park. Infraserv Knapsack is in charge of storing and maintaining the pumps for Bayer AG.

This order follows on the heels of a 24-month trial period of a variety of pumps. “As time passed, the advantages of the MKP became obvious to us. Since we need to convey difficult fluids that sometimes are solids-laden as well as have low temperatures, we constantly had problems with other pumps. They were fault prone and required a lot of maintenance. CP’s MKP on the other hand runs absolutely seamlessly and reliably. We were also impressed by the highly professional, dependable and fast service provided by CP,” stated Andre Düx, Departmental Engineer at Bayer AG. “The success of the pilot phase was the basic reason for choosing the MKP for our expansion project. That, together with the good working relationship between CP and our integrated project team, which included operational personnel and project members, was why we decided to go with the MKP,” added Ulrich Deppen, Project Manager at Bayer AG.

CP’s sealless magnetic drive pumps (MKP, MKP-S and MKTP), developed to meet the stringent demands of the chemical sector and related industries, feature a single centrally located impeller-bearing assembly that is optimally lubricated and cooled by the pumped fluid. These features mean that it is even possible to convey fluids containing solid particles. The compact design of the pumps enables them to handle temperatures as low as -100°C with minimal insulation without incident. The pumps are constructed of just a few robust components. The intelligent modular design facilities assembly and minimizes the costs of spare parts, maintenance and servicing.

“This order marks an important milestone for CP. We are delighted to have acquired one of Germany’s foremost chemical park operators in InfraServ and to be amongst their preferred suppliers. We have every confidence that the reliability of our pumps will ensure efficient product processes for Bayer,” commented Heinz Mathys, Marketing & Sales Director at CP Pumpen AG.
