The Smartseal process is patented throughout Europe and securely seals the edges of conveyor belts. Now the patend has been granted in Japan. This innovative process prevents oil, grease, moisture and bacteria from penetrating the conveyor belt from the sides, or pieces of fluff from the tension member protruding and getting into the food conveyed. When counter-bending frequently occurs in the belt, Smartseal is considerably more reliable then the previously popular welded profiles. As a result, it ensures better levels of hygiene in nearly all areas of the food industry.

The patented Smartseal process needs no further sealing materials. Sealing can be carried out without preparing the belt edge and even thin single-ply belts can be sealed. Thanks to the extreme suppleness of the sealing, belts sealed with Smartseal operate perfectly over nose bars.

Forbo Siegling employs more than 1,800 people globally in nine production sites and 25 international companies.
