New Robot Layer Picking System by RMT Robotics

RMT Robotics®   announced the development of its new layer picking system using its state-of-the-art, patent-pending robotic layer picking tool.

With combined vacuum and clamping technology, the new tooling has the capability of picking 95 percent of consumer products on todays market including corrugate or boxboard cases, shrink wrap products, open trays and tubs as well as bottles. Patterns with voids and tier sheets are also handled with ease.

By incorporating the new tooling, the layer picking system has the capability of picking multiple layers at once as well as picking and placing entire pallet loads, allowing for simple and secure inventory replenishment,  especially with unstable loads.

The new tooling will allow for increased throughput and reduced footprint in automated systems, making it ideal for food, beverage and consumer goods distribution centers. Several layer picking tools are currently being utilized on a hybrid case and layer picking project for one of the largest beer distributors in North America.
