Kardex has introduced its upgraded Vertical Lift Module (VLM), now equipped with the Total Intelligence Concept (TIC) control system. This latest generation platform delivers a modern software architecture combined with a user-friendly design to enhance warehouse automation.
Operators benefit from a 12.1-inch capacitive touch panel offering context-sensitive assistance in over 20 languages, minimal training time, and reduced picking errors. The ergonomic design promotes comfort and efficiency at every station.
The system features a modular software- and hardware-architecture enabling seamless integration of new features and adaptation to changing requirements. The TIC platform further introduces an Intralogistics Application Programming Interface (ILA) to enable integration into broader automation ecosystems.
Enhanced features such as dynamic tray zoning, faster shutter door operation, and high-frequency tray placement near access openings accelerate storage and retrieval. With remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance tools, downtime is minimised and system reliability improved.
The TIC-controlled VLM is now available in most regions. The North American release is scheduled for Spring 2025, with further features expected throughout the year, completing the transition to the TIC platform by mid-2025.
