AR Racking: Pallet racking adapted for picking for the DotaKondor warehouse in Colombia

DotaKondor S.A.S, a Colombian company dedicated to the distribution of safety footwear for industry, has in its new warehouse located in Guarne (Antioquía region) an adjustable pallet racking system with capacity for 1,804 picking levels, thanks to the industrial storage solutions specialist AR Racking and the company Avante Ingeniería.

DotaKondor (known in the market as Calzado Kondor) has points of sale in the country’s main cities. Besides providing extensive and fast coverage nationwide, DotaKondor is noted for developing stringent laboratory tests based on international standards that verify the efficient fulfilment of the technical safety standards of its footwear.

With more than four decades of experience, DotaKondor now has another warehouse in Guarne that will facilitate the daily picking operations of its wide range of products for work safety and protection. “Thanks to AR Racking, we have an agile and effective warehouse fully adapted to our broad range of references, which will allow us to continue to grow and strengthen our leadership position in the sector”, explained Juan Sebastian Ramirez, Logistics Coordinator at DotaKondor.

“We have designed an earthquake-resistant storage solution with a hook-type attachment, adapted to DotaKondor’s operations, capable of withstanding dynamic forces and surface vibrations”, commented Yeison E. Guarín Viasus, Key Accounts Executive at AR Racking Colombia. He added, “in addition, the industrial racking installed has a transparent anti-fall mesh enclosure, providing the facility with maximum safety for warehouse personnel and the load itself”.

The adjustable pallet racking system is a solution able to incorporate a wide variety of accessories that enhance its safety. Likewise, selective racking is a system for pallets but which can be perfectly adapted to picking needs, as in the case with DotaKondor. For this project, DotaKondor was assisted by Avante Ingeniería, a Colombian company that provided design consultancy for the new DotaKondor distribution centre in Guarne and support with the implementation of the distribution centre.
