At SMM, the world’s largest international trade show for the maritime industry, the Nuremberg-based specialist for electric drive and automation systems Baumüller was represented with its own trade show booth.

With its new offer for hybrid and all-electric ship propulsion systems, Baumüller was perfectly situated in the new Hall A5, booth 109. The hall was set up this year specifically for alternative and environmentally friendly drive technologies in line with the trendy topic of green propulsion.

With its broad range of electronic drive technology, from motors and inverters up to control systems, Baumüller offers interesting alternatives to conventional ship propulsion. The spectrum of services covers inland vessels, yachts, tugboats, offshore vessels and the like. Baumüller features its high-torque motors DST2 specifically with wing mounts that make it much easier to integrate them into the ship design. Furthermore, Lloyd’s Register has confirmed that the high-torque motors correspond to the special requirements of the shipping industry. Baumüller also enables innovative jet-thruster systems with dynamic pump solutions for maneuvering. In addition to drives, the Baumüller Group offers project planning expertise, management, service concepts, etc. and is thus a long-term partner for the entire lifecycle of ship propulsion systems.
