Baumüller introduces a new generation of DSA three-phase external rotor motors to the market, providing a weight-optimised solution for mobile drives. These light external rotor motors are future-orientated drive solutions for electrical scooters or motorcycles and are also capable of energy recuperation.

The new DSA200 can deliver power up to 2 kW and rotation speeds of up to 660 min-1. It is therefore suitable for mobile applications as well as other areas such as transport or ventilation systems. This new development impresses with high sustainable performance and quiet running that reduces the overall noise produced and can be applied in especially rough environmental conditions due to its protection type IP65. The most important advantage of the DSA200 in the design and development of new machines is its extreme flexibility when it comes to drive integration. The housing of the DSA can be designed according to customer requirements and the power and size of the motor can be scaled to the customer’s needs.

When an external rotor motor is used as a direct drive, it provides a reliable and maintenance-free alternative to traditional drive solutions.
