The DSD2 servomotors from the Nuremberg manufacturer, Baumüller, are in demand in applications where particularly high dynamic drives are required. In the 45 to 100 frame sizes, the compact motors have already been highly successful. With the new 132 frame size, Baumüller now offers its customers dynamics in the higher performance ranges by means of an excellent torque-to-inertia ratio and optional overload capability. Typical applications include, to name a few, cross cutter drives or injection axes in servo-hydraulics.

The new DSD2 132 are available in an air cooled version with IP 54 and in a water-cooled version. A version with oil cooling will also be available soon. With a maximum torque of 1000 Nm, a nominal torque of 500 Nm and a nominal speed spectrum of up to 4500 min-1, the DSD2 132 supplements the Nuremberg manufacturer’s range of products with another important component.

The DSD2 series scores points with its compact design, high performance density, high overload capability, very smooth and thus dirt-resistant casing and excellent inertia ratio. The permanently excited synchronous servomotors from Baumüller are virtually cog-free and are more energy efficient than similar motors.
