The DEKRA Award pays tribute to the best sustainable solutions for issues concerning the future of economy and society. Together with WirtschaftsWoche, Germany’s leading economy magazine, the enterprise prize pays tribute to model projects in the health, environmental and safety sectors. Each year, the DEKRA Award focuses on a current topic in three categories.

Vanderlande Industries GmbH in Dortmund won in the “Health” category, which this year focused on “sustainable human resources policies”. Vanderlande Industries has introduced an integrated concept for actively searching for young professionals. Its human resources policies are rounded off by a well thought-out work safety and health concept. As a result of the programme, the company has a permanently low absenteeism rate of under two percent.

At the award ceremony, Stefan Kölbl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEKRA e.V. and DEKRA SE, stressed that “Germany has a strong innovative economy and an enormous reservoir of companies with outstanding ideas. With the DEKRA award, we are providing a platform for these ideas, and once again this year, we are delighted to pay tribute to the best to offer ground-breaking solutions for the future.”
A topnotch jury selected the companies to be awarded the prizes:

  • Roland Tichy, Jury Chairman, editor in chief of WirtschaftsWoche
  • Katrin Altpeter, Minister for Labour, Social Welfare, the Family, Women and Senior Citizens for Baden-Wurttemberg
  • Dr. Raimund Klinkner, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL) (German Federal Logistics Association)
