DENSO’s new BHT-1281 hand-held wireless UHF RFID terminal features ultra high-speed scanning of RFID tags, simultaneous scanning of multiple tags, scanning in 360 degrees, and scanning of tags facing in different directions.

When compared to scanning barcodes, working time is reduced by up to ninety percent or more. A high-power, one-watt antenna allows the BHT-1281 to scan standard RFID tags at a best-in-class distance of 16 feet or more, significantly improving efficiency when scanning products on high shelves.

“Our BHT-1281 RFID terminal offers outstanding performance in a cost-effective package,” said David Keller, sales manager, DENSO ADC. “It’s another way we’re increasing our customers’ productivity while providing them with highest value and lowest cost of ownership.” A comfortable pistol-grip handle makes the BHT-1281 easy to use for long work sessions. Dual extended-range batteries enable continuous scanning for eight hours or more.

In tests, the lightweight yet rugged devices resist damage when dropped onto concrete from a height of 3.9 feet (1.2 meters). Communications capabilities include wireless LAN and Bluetooth. An optional device cradle enables wired connection to a PC via Ethernet, USB or RS-232C.
