One of the most time-consuming tasks is the new installation or replacement of conveyor belts and timing belts. The often difficult access as well as the different dimensions in production lines make their replacement a cumbersome procedure. New mobile joining presses from Habasit provide a remedy here. Now also for belt widths up to 600 mm and for a wide range of belt types.

End-jointed belts and belts are often the first choice for high transport loads. The new presses of the PML series allow a fast and safe splicing for almost all conveyor belts, drive belts and timing belts. They are suitable for both fusion and adhesive splicing methods, including Habasit’s Flexproof, Thermofix and Quickmelt methods, eliminating the need for multiple tools for different joining processes. The control unit allows quick and easy adjustment of the joining parameters.

Simple and mobile

The presses are available in four sizes from 6.5 kg to 23 kg and are easy to transport in the supplied housing. The aluminium frame ensures easy handling during installation on site. The optimised air cooling and the absence of cooling water or compressed air make the use of the presses considerably easier and protect the operator from injury. An integrated adjustment manometer indicates the pressure generated when tightening the plugs with a standard ratchet wrench, which is included in the scope of delivery. This enables repeatable results.

From narrow to wide

While simple tools for splicing tapes up to 100mm wide are currently available on the market, the new PML range offers professional tools for all tape widths up to 600mm. If several narrow strips need to be joined, PML presses can weld several strips at the same time, depending on the width. This means a significant reduction in joining time and therefore significantly lower labour and maintenance costs.
