HUBTEX Australia: licensee becomes a 100 percent subsidiary

Present on the Australian market for 25 years – with the highest vehicle density in the worldwide market comparison: To these superlatives, which distinguish HUBTEX Australia, another one is added. With effect from September HUBTEX Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG from Fulda will take over 100 percent of the shares of the previous licensee – making it not only a subsidiary but also the largest branch outside Germany. With this acquisition, the industrial truck manufacturer significantly expands its business relations with Australia and pursues – even in the current economic crisis – an international growth strategy.

The HUBTEX brand stands not only in Germany for sophisticated solutions for the handling of long and heavy loads, but also for strong partners and branches all over the world. This includes the previous licensee HUBTEX Australia, which Bill Parry, the previous owner, founded in 1995 as “Parry Forklifts” and which has been operating under its current name since 2000. With the sale at the end of August, HUBTEX will take over all shares to 100 percent from Parry, who will continue to be actively advised in the areas of sales, marketing and business development. From September onwards, his long-time partner Bruce Peatman will take over the management. As the previous General Manager he has many years of experience in customer service and after-sales as well as in sales of HUBTEX solutions. He will be supported by Lars Beuel, who also acts in a double function as Sales Manager for the HUBTEX headquarters and who has been supporting HUBTEX Australia from Germany for 15 years.

Largest subsidiary worldwide

Next to Europe and the USA, the Australian market is one of the most important global markets for HUBTEX: With around 700 machines, the industrial truck manufacturer currently has the highest vehicle density compared to other markets worldwide – a figure which, measured against Australia’s relatively low population and purchasing power, is gaining in value once again. With its large market share and generated sales of 15 million euros, Australia is the most important global export market after Continental Europe and the USA. With the conversion of the previous licensee into a subsidiary, HUBTEX has gained the largest branch outside Germany with its Australian headquarters in Sydney and is now able to offer Australian customers additional investment security and individual advice.

High service quality and short distances to the customer

In addition to its headquarters in Sydney, HUBTEX Australia has its own locations in the major metropolises of Melbourne and Brisbane; further service branches are located in Adelaide and Perth. A total of 50 employees work at these locations. In addition to new Hubtex products, rental and used equipment with a market share of almost 50 percent is an important mainstay, which has been expanded over decades. The fact that the company is present in all conurbations ensures, despite the size of the country, short service response times and short distances to the customer – which is not typical for European manufacturers in Australia. The sales network, which focuses on wood, building materials and glass, also benefits from its own spare parts warehouses in all branches. Regular training of the Australian service technicians, which takes place annually at the HUBTEX headquarters in Fulda, guarantees Australian customers a service quality at European level.
