A quarter of a century after its founding, HUBTEX UK has grown from humble beginnings in a garage to a major player in the UK market. The history of HUBTEX UK is marked by continuous growth, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to quality and safety.
The roots of HUBTEX UK go back to the early 1980s, even before Malcolm Manser and HUBTEX GmbH conceived the idea of establishing an independent representation for HUBTEX in the United Kingdom. In 1999, HUBTEX UK began operations, initially working out of a small garage serving as a sales office. By 2002, the first dedicated branch was opened, followed by an office with an attached workshop in 2004. Since then, HUBTEX UK has undergone remarkable transformation. What began as a one-man operation now employs 16 staff. In 2008, HUBTEX UK moved to its current building in Milton Keynes, marking another milestone in its journey. The expansion of the service department, which now includes a team of 10 technicians ensuring comprehensive maintenance and servicing of vehicles, has been a key success factor.
The first customers began using HUBTEX sideloaders as early as 1986, a model that symbolizes the durability and reliability of HUBTEX products. In 2004, HUBTEX UK made its debut at IMHX, a key trade fair in Birmingham, allowing the company to expand its product range to include multi-directional sideloaders and strengthen its market position in order-picking vehicles for kitchen panels, wood-based materials, laminates, decorative panels, aluminum, and plastic profiles. Other major milestones include the introduction of the MaxX and FluX series in 2016 and the PhoeniX series in 2018.
The past 25 years have been characterized by sustainable growth and the development of long-term customer relationships with companies such as Eurocell, Antalis, Hydro, and Metsec. While leasing contracts in the industry typically last five years, HUBTEX UK has secured numerous long-term agreements spanning ten years, many of which have been renewed since the UK branch’s inception. These partnerships highlight the high quality of HUBTEX’s products and services as well as the trust customers place in the company. “Our strength lies in the reliability and durability of our products, as well as the vehicle safety we offer our customers. These qualities have made us a trusted partner for many businesses,” says Paul McNally, Managing Director of HUBTEX UK.
Despite challenges posed by global events and geopolitical tensions, HUBTEX UK looks optimistically toward the future. The company plans to further strengthen its position in the construction, wood, steel, and plastics industries while expanding into new markets such as the automotive, aerospace, and airfreight sectors.
The vision for the coming years includes further growth in machinery, customers, staff, and revenue. “With strong relationships with customers and suppliers and a team of dedicated and talented employees, HUBTEX UK sees many opportunities to successfully navigate the challenges of the future,” McNally concludes.
