Moog’s 6-DOF motion systems is now operational in Qingdao’s Oriental Movie Metropolis in China

Moog, a design and manufacturing company that provides high-performance motion control products, solutions and services, announced that the six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) motion systems provided by Moog is successfully in operation in Qingdao’s Oriental Movie Metropolis in China. Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis is one of the most modern, large theme parks to have opened in China and it features an innovative indoor movie park. This park’s unique 4D dynamic cinema, “Longgong Duobao” (Looted Treasures from the Dragon King’s Palace), is the first of its kind to combine traditional Chinese mythology with 4D interactive entertainment and the latest motion control technology used in “dark riding” equipment. It provides an immersive experience in which visitors can experience a thrilling six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) ride.

The design, production and delivery processes are in full compliance with the “Safety Regulations on Large-scale Amusement Facilities” (GB8408) issued by the State Administration for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). The rides equipped with Moog motion systems were certified as “up-to-standard” by state authorities, ensuring the amusement park’s opening on April 28, 2018 as scheduled. During the theater’s construction and initial operation, Moog also provided timely and effective on-site commissioning and maintenance services.
