Powertronic Drive Systems expands with the PL-Z series. High Torque, Low Noise, Long Life’s product portfolio includes four high-performance planetary gear motors, available with brushed DC and BLDC motors.

With outside diameters of 32 to 82mm, this series is characterized by a high torque and low noise level. The nominal voltage is 24VDC as standard, but the entire voltage range can be operated from 12 to 48 VDC. With a rated current of just 700mA – in the 32mm diameter version – the engines are already extremely efficient and bring it to 4,000rpm (5,000rpm idling speed).

For the 62mm engine, the rated current is 5.5A. This also adds a considerable torque of 28.7Ncm at a rated speed of 3,000rpm. This corresponds to a nominal output of 90 W. The rated speed is 3,000 rpm as standard, but can be wound between 2,000 and 6,000 rpm according to customer requirements.

A nice side effect is the following: Lower noise, less wear, longer life.

The gears have up to three stages, with reduction ratios from 3.65 to 393: 1. The speed range is thus in rated operation at 7.6 to 822 rpm. This makes the largest model impressive 45 Nm nominal torque at a reduction of 393. However, the gear is also slightly larger: good 80mm in length should be planned by the designer.
