SIMPLER LIGHT PARAMETERISATION THANKS TO FEIG

The mobile NFC readers ID ECCO Smart HF-BLE and ID ECCO Smart 2D-HF-BLE enable the programming of LED drivers according to the new industry standard Zhaga Book 25 for the first time.

The standard, to which OSRAM and FEIG contributed, defines reliable and standardised interfaces for programming via Bluetooth and NFC. This offers new possibilities in the “field” programming of LED luminaires indoors and outdoors. They are the first suppliers on the market to implement this standard in their products.

By means of an NFC interface, LED drivers can be parameterised faster and with more functions than with conventional technologies. In addition to wired technologies via DALI or 1-10V interfaces, programming via NFC has become increasingly important in recent years. NFC technology allows LED drivers to be programmed without voltage during the production process or during luminaire maintenance work. OSRAM and FEIG are optimising and expanding this cost-efficient and reliable function in a professional exchange. OSRAM offers the comprehensive Tuner4TRONIC software for programming LED drivers. FEIG has developed two new High Power NFC readers with a Bluetooth Low Energy interface for the requirements of the lighting industry.

“By integrating the ID ECCO Smart wireless NFC reader into the Tuner4TRONIC software, we are opening up further fields of application in manufacturing and maintenance for our customers,” says Arwed Storm, Product Manager for Tuner4TRONIC at OSRAM. “Especially in outdoor lighting, high savings potentials can be achieved through driver programming during on-site service.”
The compact and wireless NFC reader ID ECCO Smart is particularly suitable for LED drivers in already mounted luminaires. Freely configurable keys as well as the integrated QR code reader in the ID ECCO Smart 2D-HF-BLE make the NFC reader future-proof for further developments in Tuner4TRONIC.

In addition to a powerful NFC output stage, the ID ECCO Smart HF-BLE offers a front and a floor antenna with different detection ranges. This means that transponders in a wide variety of orientations are also detected in critical environments such as the metallic housing of a luminaire.

Thanks to the double-walled ABS plastic housing with protective rubber coating, the robustly constructed ID ECCO Smart reader can withstand drops from a height of 1.6 m onto concrete completely unscathed. This makes it possible to work indoors and outdoors without any problems.
