VAHLE is investing millions to develop a new company campus at its Kamen headquarters. By 2027, the site will feature modern production facilities and a four-story administration building spanning 50,000 square meters.

Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG is planning to construct a new headquarters at its Kamen site, featuring a four-story administration building and state-of-the-art production facilities on nearly 50,000 square meters, set for completion by 2027. The project emphasizes sustainability and a modern working environment for employees, with an investment exceeding 60 million euros. This significant investment aligns with VAHLE’s long-term strategy and reinforces its commitment to the Kamen location and the broader region.

“We have been based in Kamen since 1956. With our decision for the new VAHLE Campus, we are not only committing ourselves to Germany as a location, but also consolidating our long-standing roots at our headquarters,” explains Achim Dries, CEO of the globally active VAHLE Group. An impressive new construction project is being built on an area of almost 50,000 square meters along Westicker Strasse, west of Paul-Vahle-Strasse. It will include state-of-the-art production facilities, highly developed production logistics and an innovative administrative unit. With this project, the world’s leading provider of energy and data transmission solutions is planning to significantly increase its production capacity from 2027 in order to meet growing demand.

A completely new factory with state-of-the-art storage areas, including an automated small parts warehouse, an automated pallet warehouse and a honeycomb warehouse, will be built on a floor space of around 15,300 square meters. To ensure sustainable operation, the construction plan includes extensive green roofs and a photovoltaic system with storage in combination with a heat pump. The four-storey administration building is being built on an area of around 3,000 square meters. In addition, an event pavilion with an area of 460 square meters is planned, which will offer a bistro for employees as well as conference and communication areas. The pavilion will also act as the central anchor of the campus and strengthen the link between administration and production.

The focus of the new building is on sustainability and attractiveness for employees. The highest standards will be set to ensure that VAHLE remains not only the largest, but also one of the most attractive employers in the region, offering optimal working conditions for innovative and exciting projects. “With the use of state-of-the-art technologies and comprehensive sustainability initiatives, we are sending a clear signal as a leading employer that radiates beyond the region,” explains Dries, adding: “This new building project is one of the largest investments by a family-owned company in the eastern Ruhr area and reaffirms our long-term commitment to the region. Our focus is not only on a sustainable infrastructure, but also on a pleasant working atmosphere that promotes creativity and innovation. This includes ergonomic work and office spaces that create ideal conditions for our employees.”

The Mayor of Kamen, Elke Kappen, also emphasizes the importance of VAHLE for the city and the region: “The family-owned company VAHLE is of crucial importance for the economic development of our city. With this construction project, VAHLE is once again setting new standards and we are proud that the company is developing so successfully here in Kamen, also in the interests of the workforce. We look forward to further close and good cooperation on this project.”
