The label printer and dispenser Legi-Air 4050 E has already proved its worth with thousands of customers. Weber Marking Systems has now redesigned its machine and turned it a modern labeling system that meets not only today’s needs but also tomorrow’s. It shines with a very low usage of compressed air, low wear and tear, no service parts, while also being Industry 4.0–ready!

The new Legi-Air 4050 E adapts to all user needs

Are there boxes that need to be labeled on one or two sides? Is high-resolution printing required, or is a lower resolution enough? Will user’s labeling machine be used for high-speed applications? No matter what user use it for, the Legi-Air 4050 E has a modular design. It adapts to fit user needs. Weber has a variety of dispensers, printing modules and tamps on offer. They include 90° and 180° swivel applicators, an extra-long linear dispenser to cover larger distances and a spring-mounted dispenser for uneven surfaces.

For label printing, user can choose from printing modules of all major brands. Resolutions of 200 to 600 dpi are possible depending on the printing module. User can easily switch to a different printing module if the one used is discontinued.

The new Legi-Air 4050 E reduces operating costs and long running times

Weber slashed the usage of compressed air by up to 80%, using modulated vacuum. That reduced operating costs. Built-in sensor and valve technologies constantly monitor the pressure and adjust it as needed.

Motors power both winding and rewinding. This minimizes wear on the printing module. Another great thing is that Weber has managed to rebuild the label printer and dispenser without any service parts. The only thing that might need maintenance is user’s printing module. For that. please refer to the service information provided by the manufacturer.

The new Legi-Air 4050 E complies with the EN 415-10 standard for machine safety and simple handling

The Legi-4050 E meets all requirements of the EN 415-10 standard, which defines the safety of packaging machines. An emergency stop system can be added for uses that require a higher level of dynamics than described as safe in the standard.

The pneumatics of the dispensers are outside the machine. Placed under a transparent cover, they are easy to find. Easy access is guaranteed if user need to clean or service something. There’s more: the device has two separate cycles for safety-relevant processes such as moving the tamp and for general functions such as label management. Thanks to colour-coded tubing, they can easily be made apart.

A multilingual touchscreen makes it easy for operators. The screen also provides error and diagnostics alerts. Operators can view current productivity and maintenance statuses on the screen. An event log displays recent machine information.

The new Legi-Air 4050 E has a modern interface (N-Controller)

Weber even thought of an Industry 4.0 interface when designing the system. Get enhanced connectivity with the optional N-controller. It is OPC UA ready (Open Platform Communications United Architecture). User can exchange more than just simple signals with it: data can be presented as plain text or as statistics. On top of that, the controller provides a visual model of the entire system.

The N-controller also enables extended connectivity with Ethernet IP, Profinet as well as other fieldbus interfaces.
