For the user-oriented operation of servo press applications Baumüller provides the appropriate drive components and – as part of the overall automation system – a systematic visualization and flexible operating options.

Now operators of stroke-controlled servo presses not only have the option to adjust the machine traditionally by entering crank-angle support points, they can also conveniently specify the desired position course of the press ram directly via support points.

The visualization for the operation of servo presses is based on web technology, which enables the interface with mobile devices. Movement profiles according to VDI 2143 can be created intuitively. The user can calculate press profiles via support points with the curve generator, thus optimizing the curve profile and improving the machine’s energy efficiency as a result. Operators can also choose between various pre-defined curves. Further available is shuttle operation with freely defined shuttle points for flexible processes and soft stop to protect the tools. These new features are based on the Baumüller technology libraries, consisting of validated and combinable function modules, which can be expanded or adapted with specific functions by the machine manufacturer or operator.
