Scientific CMOS sensor can be cooled down to -30°C for outstanding noise reduction performance.
sCMOS image sensor technology pioneer -The PCO group – has just expanded their scientific CMOS imaging systems of the pco.edge range by the model pco.edge gold 4.2.
The new pco.edge 4.2 gold makes a giant leap forward in the scientific imaging camera market due to its distinctive ability to simultaneously combine features like extremely low noise, fast frame rates, wide dynamic range, high quantum efficiency, high resolution and a large field of view together in one image.
The scientific CMOS sensor is adjustable via air cooling to-15°C and with water cooling even up to -30°C. By this the scientific imaging camera will enhance dark current noise performance particularly while shooting with long exposure times. The pco.edge 4.2 gold offers long exposure times and best performance data combined with highest frame rates.
The imaging system is mainly used in scientific and medical applications such as live cell microscopy, molecule detection or in spectral (hyperspectral) imaging among others but has also expertise in the astronomy or for industrial and inspection tasks.
