Reliable measurement technology plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water systems. BD|SENSORS has expanded its portfolio of certified products with additional pressure transmitters and level probes that comply with strict drinking water hygiene requirements. The conformity of these products according to the UBA hygiene guidelines has now been officially confirmed by DVGW CERT.
With this certification, several sensor solutions from BD|SENSORS are now approved for use in drinking water installations, meeting the regulatory requirements for materials that come into direct contact with potable water.
The certification confirms that the tested products comply with the hygiene requirements defined by the German Environment Agency (UBA) and the technical regulations of the German Gas and Water Association (DVGW). The certification process verifies that materials used in the products do not release harmful substances into drinking water.
This ensures that the measurement devices do not negatively affect water quality and can be safely integrated into drinking water infrastructure. Products that meet these requirements receive the DVGW certificate “UBA Conformity Hygiene,” confirming their suitability for potable water applications.
The certification also provides operators of water systems with additional assurance that installed measurement technology meets current regulatory standards.
BD|SENSORS has significantly expanded its certified product portfolio. In addition to previously approved hydrostatic level probes, several pressure transmitters and screw-in probes have now also received official drinking water approval.
Seven product types featuring both analog and digital data communication are now confirmed to comply with drinking water regulations. This expansion allows water utilities, infrastructure operators, and industrial users to select from a wider range of certified measurement technologies for their applications.
The extended portfolio provides more flexibility when integrating measurement devices into different types of drinking water systems.
The following BD|SENSORS products are now certified according to the DVGW “UBA Hygiene Conformity” requirements:
Füllstandssonde DCL 531 and DCL 531i
Füllstandssonde DCL 571
Drucktransmitter DCT 531 and DCT 531i
Drucktransmitter DCT 571
Füllstandssonde LMK 387 and LMK 387H
Füllstandssonde LMP 307, LMP 307i, and LMP 307T
Einschraubsonde LMP 331 and LMP 331i
Drucktransmitter DMP 331 and DMP 331i
Drucktransmitter DMK 387
Through this certification, BD|SENSORS now offers a total of ten variants of level probes with valid drinking water approval.
Measurement technology used in water infrastructure must meet extremely strict hygiene and safety standards. Sensors that come into contact with drinking water must not release substances that could compromise water quality or pose health risks.
By achieving UBA hygiene conformity, BD|SENSORS demonstrates that its products meet these demanding requirements. The certification confirms compliance with the material standards defined by the German Environment Agency and ensures compatibility with drinking water systems.
Such certifications are essential for water utilities, municipalities, and industrial facilities responsible for supplying safe drinking water.
Customers and system integrators can access the certification documents directly through the BD|SENSORS website under the “Certificates” section of each product page. The certification is also listed in the DVGW database under the registration number HW-1011DQ0656.
This transparency allows operators and project planners to verify compliance quickly when selecting measurement technology for drinking water applications.
By expanding its certified product portfolio, BD|SENSORS continues to strengthen its position as a provider of reliable sensor technology for water infrastructure and environmental monitoring systems.
