bd|sensors: Broadly positioned for Industry 4.0: digitally communicating pressure measurement technology

BD|SENSORS GmbH

BD|SENSORS strengthens its portfolio in the field of electronic pressure measuring instruments with a new product series with digital interfaces.

The networking of processes is becoming increasingly important worldwide as part of Industry 4.0. Against this background, BD|SENSORS has expanded its portfolio in the field of electronic pressure and level measurement technology by a new product line with digital interfaces. The variants of analog pressure measurement technology, which have proven themselves in industrial use for decades, serve as a basis. The range of devices with digital interfaces, which are offered in versions with IO-Link, Modbus RTU and i2C, is correspondingly broad. These are available in accuracy classes starting from 0.1% FSO and for nominal pressures from 100 mbar to 600 bar, and in many industry-standard mechanical and electrical connection variants. Special attention is paid to three variants in hygienic designs, which are tailored to the requirements of the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Particularly in the field of pressure measurement technology, BD|SENSORS offers a wide range of variants that take into account both network capability and the currently common communication standards.

  • With IO-Link versions, the company relies on powerful point-to-point communication, which convinces with a worldwide standard, central data management and automated parameterization.
  • Products with the serial data bus i²C have a classic master-slave architecture that provides fast communication and numerous setting options – e.g. units for pressure and temperature.
  • The combination of RS485 interface and Modbus RTU communication protocol stands for an extremely interference-immune digital signal transmission for pressure transmitters and level probes, which has proven itself even over long distances and as an open protocol is part of the reliable industry standard.
With this, the Upper Franconian technology company takes into account the trend that, in addition to analog versions, products with digital interfaces are increasingly in demand. No wonder, since they enable fast, transparent data communication and thus completely new options for controlling and monitoring industrial processes. This applies to plant and mechanical engineering as well as to applications in water management or the food and pharmaceutical industries.

In this environment, users can rely on electronic pressure measuring instruments in proven BD|SENSORS quality: High-quality materials and components contribute to high accuracy and signal stability. In addition, the modular design allows flexible adaptation of the devices to the requirements of the application.
