Creaform, the worldwide leader in portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services, announced the addition of the ACADEMIA 20 3D scanner to its ACADEMIA educational solution suite. Ideal for smaller parts and additive manufacturing, this latest extension of the offer will enable teachers, students, and researchers alike to effortlessly go from 3D scanning to 3D printing. With this continuing improvement to the ACADEMIA offer, Creaform reaffirms its commitment to the educational sector by providing even more options to help educate and inspire students using metrology.

The ACADEMIA solution suite provides teachers with the powerful tools and didactic material they need to provide the hands-on experience for their students. It is intended to demonstrate how they can use 3D scanners for a wide variety of engineering applications, such as product development, reverse engineering and inspection. It is designed to be both easy to set up and easy to use by teachers and students of all levels.

To further diversify the offer, different bundles were created to accommodate the teaching style and needs of every classroom. A teacher can choose the single-seat offer, which – includes one seat of the ACADEMIA software suite, 1-year customer care plan and free classroom teaching kits – or the multi-seat offer – which includes 50 seats of the ACADEMIA software suite, 5-year customer care plan and free classroom teaching kits.

“It is of the utmost importance that students be prepared for today’s demanding engineering sectors, including aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries,” said Daniel Brown, Product Management Director at Creaform. “Our ACADEMIA educational solution suite is a clear path to achieve that goal, especially as universities and colleges increasingly offer more programs specialized in additive manufacturing.”
