HUBTEX Maschinenbau GmbH from Fulda has fully integrated the U.S. General Importer, Design Storage & Handling (DSH), into the HUBTEX organization. The resulting subsidiary, HUBTEX North America, now independently manages the most crucial market for the German company outside of Europe, with Alexander Baumann as the new Managing Director.

For over 30 years, Design Storage & Handling (DSH) successfully distributed the product portfolio of the HUBTEX Group in the North and Central American markets. The forklift manufacturer HUBTEX has now acquired the General Importer entirely, and as HUBTEX North America, it will autonomously serve customers locally. “We remain the reliable partner for transporting long, heavy, and bulky loads. We will extend this expertise beyond the steel industry to the building material trade, as well as the wood and automotive industries, for which our products are designed. We assure users of secure spare part supply, excellent service, and trouble-free processes,” says Alexander Baumann. Expanding automated intralogistics solutions in the USA and further networking within the aerospace industry are additional focal points, according to Baumann, who brings over 20 years of experience in materials handling and commissioning technology, along with comprehensive technical knowledge of the HUBTEX product range.

New Depot in California Ensures Rapid Availability

HUBTEX is currently implementing several projects in the USA to further penetrate the market for multidirectional forklifts. “This includes opening a new depot on the West Coast of America, specifically in California, in addition to our existing large branches in Ohio and Virginia. We have already initiated the necessary measures and expanded our demonstration fleet,” says Hans-Joachim Finger, Managing Director of HUBTEX. “The presence in California is just one measure to expand proximity to existing customers, better understand their needs, and introduce products to new users.” In addition to the two branch locations, sales and service staff also operate in Washington State, Oregon, New Mexico, Texas, and California. HUBTEX North America will also distribute customized materials handling equipment for production logistics from Genkinger, a manufacturer of custom forklifts, and specialized airport/air cargo equipment from DIMOS Maschinenbau.

Transatlantic Training Initiative

To proactively address the prevailing shortage of skilled workers, HUBTEX North America has introduced a training program at its locations in Brookville (Ohio) and Fulda (Germany). “This is aimed at making the profession of service technician attractive even for career changers from other industries. They receive the entire HUBTEX know-how on-site,” concludes Baumann.
