As of today, ESMA Industrial Enterprises, a leading engineering company that provides engineering services and support for a variety of industrial products in the field of Oil and Gas, has opened the first Holmatro Premium Service Center in the Middle-East.

Dynamic testing of hydraulic tools to identify hidden defects

After an intensive training period with Holmatro, all of the testing equipment and specialist tools needed to carry out the servicing and repairs of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, hoses, control valves, mechanical and lifting tools were installed in the new service center. ESMA is now able to provide maintenance, repair and certifications according to the Holmatro Inspection Procedure (HIP). A unique aspect of this procedure is its dynamic method of testing. Dynamic testing by Holmatro means, amongst other things, testing cylinders across their entire stroke with the use of a contra-cylinder to simulate a maximum use situation in a controlled environment, so that any hidden defects will be identified sooner.

Essential to all high-pressure hydraulic products is the control of immense power. As a global developer, manufacturer and supplier of high-pressure hydraulic tools, working safely is very important at Holmatro. It is therefore not out of context for Holmatro to pay special attention to service and training methods that will facilitate engineers and technical staff to operate its products professionally. “Users must be able to rely on optimally functioning hydraulic tools for every application and under any circumstances. To ensure this, regular maintenance and periodic certification of the tools is essential; as well as the reliable and safe usage of the hydraulic equipment. Working safely also means working more efficiently and it contributes to increasing the tools lifespan.” says Robert Dekkers, Service Manager at Holmatro. Harish Sharma, the ESMA General Sales Manager continues: “We are very aware of this fact and we’re happy that Holmatro has trained us so that we are able to help our customers to keep their tools in a safe and reliable condition. We are able to do this with a number of servicing tools; for example, by using a unique 150 ton test frame. We also train our customers’ employees in the safe usage of the equipment, to increase their awareness of the power of high-pressure hydraulics.”
