First Sensor presents the new digital Blue Eagle camera line with a very light sensitive HDR-CMOS image sensor and excellent thermal and mechanical stability for use in automotive and mobile OEM applications. With its high dynamic range >100 dB the megapixel cameras are ideal for high brightness differences and low light conditions. The cameras offer a wide range of digital data interfaces such as 2-wire-Ethernet (BroadR-Reach), APIX2, Quiet-wire-Ethernet (MICREL, MARVELL), LVDS and MOST150 for easy and flexible integration into automotive on-board networks and driver assistance systems. Further, the cameras can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), Power over APIX (PoA) or Power over Coax (PoC) in addition to standard DC power supply.

First Sensor’s megapixel cameras of the Blue Eagle line feature a wide operating temperature range from -40 to +95 °C and low power consumption. The cameras offer a very high resistance against harsh environmental conditions like mechanical shocks and vibrations. Additionally, the housings are protected against ingress of water and dust according to IP68/IP6k9k. Due to their modular design the Blue Eagle digital cameras can be easily customized to fit individual application requirements. All of First Sensor’s cameras are subject to the quality management standard for the automotive industry ISO/TS 16949.

Important features of the new Blue Eagle digital camera line:

  • CMOS image sensor with high dynamic range >100 dB
  • Wide range of digital data interfaces
  • Operating temperature -40 to +95 °C
  • Quality management standard ISO/TS 16949

Typical applications of First Sensor’s rugged digital HDR-CMOS Blue Eagle cameras include front view, rear view and blind spot detection for cars, heavy trucks, forklifts, agricultural equipment and mining machines.
