Ifm electronic developed these sensors in particular for factory automation. They provide a uniform sensing range for the reliable detection of all metals. The compact dimensions of the devices allow use in the smallest of spaces. New electromagnetic field immune sensor technology prevents incorrect switching.

Consistent correction factor

The “K=1” sensors are perfectly suited for the detection of aluminium where conventional sensors show a considerably reduced sensing range. Also, the innovation features a constant sensing range on all other kinds of metals. Fast changing switching states are precisely monitored by the high switching frequencies.

Multitude of applications

Moreover, the powerful models are immune to magnetic fields thanks to the new sensor technology. They operate with absolute reliability even right next to electric brakes. The wide temperature range of – 40…85 °C allows universal use and the high protection rating IP 68 / 69K ensures constant reliability.
