Lambert updates its LIFA software with new colormap and contrast optimization features

Contrast optimization

The new contrast enhancement post-processing option for fluorescence lifetime overlay images enhances local contrast. This can bring out more detail in darker parts of an image.

Contrast optimization is an optional feature that can be accessed on the analysis tab.

New colormap

LIFA now uses the turbo colormap, which provides a high-contrast pseudocolor overlay of the fluorescence lifetime. This colormap is similar to the jet colormap that LIFA used before. But the turbo colormap has smoother transitions between colors to prevent false detail and color banding.

This software update also introduces normalized histograms to make it easier to compare histograms for ROIs of different sizes. And it includes an updated siFLIM lifetime algorithm to reduce image artifacts.
