Lenze puts simplicity to the test at the industrial trade fair in Hanover

At the industrial trade fair in Hanover, Lenze shows exactly how working together makes it easy, fast and safe for customers to get their machines ready for the market. The specialist in motion centric automation will be demonstrating just how easy the world of drive and automation technology can be, in Hall 14 (Booth H20), from 23rd to 27th April 2012. As one of the few full-range suppliers on the market, Lenze supports machine designers through each step of the development process and throughout the entire life cycle of their machine – from the initial idea through to after sales – as well as offering support when optimising an existing machine, or when developing a new one. Lenze shows how it’s done at the Hanover Trade Fair, with corresponding automation systems, drive solutions, services and products – ranging from the controller to the drive shaft.

Lenze’s new Servo Inverter i700 for multi-axis applications is the latest example of a product innovation that offers significant improvements in terms of ease of assembly, commissioning and engineering. The drives, as a central component of the control-based automation system from Lenze, have a wide range of benefits – compact size, easy assembly concept, wiring via plug connectors, user-friendly software tools, as well as maximum dynamic performance over an extensive area of application. The first phase encompasses single and double axis modules with a power range of 0.37 to 15 kW. The corresponding power supply modules are fitted with a brake chopper and generally do not need filtering measures or DC fuses. The DC-bus connection established between the drives is completely free of cabling, thanks to an innovative busbar system and easy clamp connection. The Servo Inverter i700 supports the whole range of motor technologies, ranging from standard three-phase AC motors right through to synchronous servo motors. Furthermore, the i700 can be easily integrated into automation architectures with EtherCAT via the central engineering interface.

Another highlight to be announced at the trade fair is Lenze’s new addi- tion to the control technology range – a self-contained panel which combines control, motion and visualisation in one device. The panel is suitable for use as a control and visualisation system within controller-based automation or for applications with central motion control. Alternitavely it can be used as a visualisation device within a drive-based automation system.

Lenze also offers the EtherCAT real-time bus for decentralised drive solutions. At the Hanover Trade Fair, three new power levels are to be launched for the 8400 motec motor inverter series. At 4.0, 5.5 and 7.5 kW, with optional EtherCAT and with IP65 degree of protection, these robust frequency inverters are recommended for easily-installed transport applications in intralogistics, as well as for use in compressors, pumps and fans. The motec works most efficiently with an MF three-phase AC motor and a Lenze gearbox. Thanks to the “VFC eco” energy-saving function, this 8400 motec Drive Package ensures highly efficient operation.
