Saving Energy with decentral drive technique from Watt Drive

After last year’s successful market introduction of the decentral drive controller INVEOR, the single phase designs for power classes 0.37 up to 1.1kW are as well available now. Furthermore the product range has been complemented with a further size „up“ into the three-phase area. With the D-size there is now available a power range of 11 up to 22kW.

The energy efficiency of drive units is gaining in importance. The power oriented control offers an immense potential of energy saving. Especially in this range the single-phase drive controller create a broader field of application.

From now on even applications can be covered at voltages of 230V. Machinery with long wirings (e.g.: packing machines or filling machinery) that show higher energy losses, energy can be saved by using decentral drive technique. Even the capital expenditure for wiring or the size of the switch cabinet is reduced.

A universal design is now available for all four sizes with equal operation and setup concept. Viewing the unique product features it is obvious that the idea of energy efficiency can be found even in the slightest detail within the drive controller platform INVEOR.

Product features INVEOR:

  • Power variety in only 4 sizes
  • Sensorless Vector Control (SVC), optionally: Vector Control (VC)
  • Optional fieldbus systems
  • Hand-held control device with clear text display
  • Wall fixing / protection class IP65

Gear technique with high efficiency:
The energy saving helical bevel gears of Watt Drive with high efficiency, are available in 2 or 3- staged basic design. Regarding the gear efficiency, an optimal amount of lubricant resp. the mounting position are parameters that should be taken into account. A preferably low surface temperature, resulting in low radiant losses, can already be reached in terms of making the right selection. Drives that are run at low surface temperatures are less prone to damage and thus can be operated with lower service costs.

Advantages of decentral MAS® gear motors:

  • Low lifecycle costs through highly efficient drive technique (IE2/IE3)
  • Geometry optimised gearings improves the energy balance of the gears
  • Compact, universally usable housings save installation spaces
  • Long lifespan through solidly designed system components
  • Low system losses through low radiant heat
  • Flexible system for the solution of customer specific applications

Ease of servicing INVEOR:

  • Solid and compact die cast housing in protection class IP65
  • Very high temperature- and vibration resistance
  • Most modern switching topology
  • No integrated fan (up to 7.5kW)
  • S1 operation at 50°C and 8kHz switching frequency
