There is a common myth that larger pixel size image sensors are always more sensitive than smaller ones. This isn’t always the case, though.
To explain why this is more a myth than a fact, it is a good idea to look at how the pixel size of an image sensor has an impact on the image quality, especially for the overall sensitivity, which is determined by the quantum efficiency.
