PCO now offers scientific CMOS cameras for almost any application

With it’s latest models pco.edge 3.1 and 4.2LT PCO AG expanded their range of scientific CMOS (sCMOS) camera systems.

With the addition of two new models, PCO now provides eight sCMOS-cameras thus offering the world’s widest range of sCMOS cameras.
The new entry-level models pco.edge 3.1 and pco.edge 4.2LT offer high quality research camera systems for a reasonable budget.

“Our objective when developing these entry-level sCMOS models was to provide researchers with small budgets the opportunity to use world class cameras while pursuing their research.” said Dr. Gerhard Holst, Head of Research at PCO.

Even with the new entry-level models users don’t have to discard quality and performance. Like all other models in the pco.edge family, the new cameras provide various selectable readout modes. For instance the special lightsheet microscopy mode. In addition the new models continue to offer a high level of sensitivity, high resolution & frame rates, exceptional readout speed as well as wide dynamic range.

An other exceptional feature of the entire PCO sCMOS family is their small form factor of just 70 x 76 x 102 mm, enabling the system to be used in far more applications in science and research than larger cameras. As Dr. Gerhard Holst further explains: “We know from customer feedback how important a small size camera can be and we are glad that we can comply with this request without compromising quality”

The two new models will be rolled out in the first quarter of 2015. The sCmos camera sytems will be showcased be at the Photonics West exhibition, held at San Francisco from 7th to 12th of February 2015.
