The PBM220 and highly compact PBM230 series are both piezoresistive absolute pressure sensors. Both series are available from 1 to 14 bar as standard – Pewatron even offer customised versions up to 25 bar. Thanks to the special gel coating, the sensors are suitable for numerous applications and can be subjected to a wide range of media. For example, the sensor is used in pneumatic applications, where the oil in the pneumatic air does not damage the sensor as it is protected with gel. Many customers appreciate the absolute pressure measurement, as they can integrate the entire electronic device directly into the injection-moulded housing, for example.

A relative pressure sensor would not function or would drift in a sealed housing. There are a few gel-coated sensors on the market, but most cannot be permanently exposed to water, because the gel loses its watertightness over time. The special gel on the Pewatron sensor has been developed for long-term exposure to water. Customers also love the PBM230’s extremely compact size, which enables it to be integrated into devices without taking up a lot of space. It is laterally sealed with an O-ring. Pewatron provides with additional information and assembly instructions upon request.
