Stauff releases new check valves featuring opening pressures up to 10 bar

The elasticity of the spring can be used to precisely adjust the opening pressure of the new check valves. New features compared to the previous series include the opening pressure increased up to 10 bar.

Stauff is expanding its range of check valves in sizes from 6 to 38 mm with a series with cutting ring connection on both sides and scalable opening pressures up to 10 bar. Additional connection variants will also be launched shortly.

Check valves are small, but crucial components in hydraulic drive systems. They release the volumetric flow of the hydraulic medium in one direction and prevent the medium from flowing in the opposite direction. They provide an important contribution to the correct function and performance of a machine.

The opening pressure is a central characteristic of this type of valve. This pressure is required to move the closing element against the spring. The check valve series previously offered by Stauff has an opening pressure of maximum 3 bar. On the new FI-RVA series, the elasticity of the integrated spring can be used to adapt the opening pressure of the valve in small steps between 0.2 and 10 bar.

A spring-loaded sealing cone with a chambered soft seal provides sealing during shut-off.

The series will be available in all common sizes from 6L to 38S, whereby the individual versions will be launched successively following customer demand. In the first step, the sizes 8, 10, 16 and 38 will be available. The valves have successfully passed the first in-house tests (burst pressure test and impulse pressure test) and are currently undergoing field trials at a renowned German brand manufacturer of hydraulic systems.

In addition to the FI-RVA series with cutting ring connection on both sides, Stauff will also be adding check valves with a screw thread on one side (FI-RVVA and FI-RVZA) and with internal thread on both sides (FI-RVIA) to the standard range at the same time. For all series, a high-quality zinc/nickel coating ensures continuous corrosion protection.
