Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and global leader in digital X-ray image sensing, participated at the International Dental Show (IDS) at the Kölnmesse, Cologne, Germany.

Teledyne DALSA has developed cutting edge CMOS sensor technology for use in dental imaging systems, including cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), panoramic and cephalometric imaging. Teledyne detectors are designed specifically for demanding X-ray applications, and offer low-dose performance advantages over traditional film or alternative detector options.

Combined with the Xineos 2D Image Reconstruction Library, users can expect consistent image sharpness within a wider range of patient shapes and sizes, increase in depth-of-field across the full dental arch, lower dose and improved workflow efficiencies. The technology is based on the reconstruction of a volume of tomographic planes through the patient anatomy, and the synthesis of a single 2D panoramic or cephalometric image delivering an ultra-sharp representation of all relevant clinical features.

Teledyne DALSA showcased the following state-of-the art detectors:

  • Xineos-1511 — medium size detector featuring 99 µm pixel size, with excellent low dose diagnostic image quality, switchable saturation dose modes and embedded real-time image processing in a compact footprint. Designed specifically for use in cost-effective 2-in-1 dental imaging systems, it is ideally suited to allow 3D and full 15 cm tall panoramic scans using a single detector.
  • Xineos-1515 — high-resolution detector with 99 µm pixel pitch, featuring a spacious square field of view. Embedded real-time image processing and seamless switchable saturation dose modes for combining high dynamic range and superior low dose detectability in a single detector for panoramic or 3D-dental and extremities imaging applications.
  • Xineos-1501 and Xineos-2301 — new ultrafast scanning detectors with 99 µm pixel pitch, offering switchable saturation dose modes and image readout in excess of 300 fps at the native pixel resolution. Supporting both advanced frame-based reconstruction on the host, as well as an on board Digital TDI mode to retrofit to existing panoramic and cephalometric scanning imaging systems.
  • Xineos-1313EO — designed for Medium Field of View (MFOV) Cone Beam CT applications.
  • Xineos-2022HR and Xineos-3030HR — 9″ and 12″ high-resolution detectors with 99 µm pixel pitch for advanced extra-oral dental, clinical and scientific applications.
  • Xineos-2222HS and Xineos-3030HS — 9″and 12″ equivalent detectors with 152 µm pixel size designed for real time surgical and cardio vascular procedures. The industry’s only flat detectors to rival the low dose clinical imaging performance of image intensifiers.
