The international jury of distinguished figures, respected design professors and specialist journalists awarded the MOVE.ME chair – part of the overall concept for seminar and meeting rooms – the highest distinction, the “Red Dot Best of the Best” design award 2015 in the office category. This title is bestowed on products with a universally excellent design.

The steel wire structure gives the chair its graceful appearance, an impressive lightness. Its minimalist design dispenses with unnecessary extras. The seat shell is mounted flexibly to encourage relaxed yet dynamic sitting, supporting the posture through every change. This is backed up with intelligent use of material properties. A further design feature is the chamfered edge of the wooden seat shell, lending the chair a sense of elegance. The various styles available – without upholstery, partially upholstered or fully upholstered with contrasting piped seams – provide the required level of comfort depending on the intended use. With the armrests reversed, a visitor chair becomes a canteen chair – it is simply hung on the table while the floor is cleaned.

MOVE.ME: even the name implies flexibility and mobility. Stacking the chairs is fast and easy, and there is a special trolley for transporting them to and from their new location. This saves valuable storage space. The electronic seat numbering system for linked seating arrangements makes it quick to set up rows of chairs in a hall. MOVE.ME meets all demands and integrates perfectly with the other mobile meeting and seminar components in any setting – an ideal all-rounder for training and conference rooms, lecture theatres or canteens.

“We are proud of this award, which recognises K+N’s consistently developed design strategy to embrace more modernity, mobility and increased emotionalisation,” explained Patrick Heinen, Sales & Marketing Director. “Our goal is to develop furniture solutions that turn the office into a place of identification and motivation.”

The ceremonial prize-giving will be held on 29th June 2015 in the Aalto-Theater in Essen. With 4 928 innovative entries from 1 994 competitors in 56 countries in 2015 alone, the “Red Dot Award: Product Design” is not only the largest and most widely known product competition in the world, but also the most international. The “Red Dot” celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
