20 Young People Start Apprenticeships at NETZSCH

The first day of professional life: Who can’t remember it many years later as if it were yesterday? On Monday, 2 September 2024, 20 young people at NETZSCH Pumps & Systems in Waldkraiburg stepped into a new phase of their lives.

In the upcoming years, the new trainees will be trained as specialists in nine different professions at the global specialist in handling complex media. In addition to three industrial clerk trainees, nine industrial mechanics, two technical product designers, one IT specialist for application development and one for system integration, one warehouse logistics specialist, one plastics and rubber technologist and one electronics technician for industrial engineering, there will also be one apprentice specialising in metal technology.

There was a mixture of excitement, nervousness and anticipation in the air when the new trainees were welcomed on the NETZSCH Campus in Waldkraiburg on Monday morning by their trainers and Rita Buchner, Director Human Resources. “As head of human resources, I would like to welcome you to NETZSCH”, said Buchner. “I am delighted that you have chosen NETZSCH. Today is the first step in what I hope will be an exciting and instructive time. Over the next few years, you will get to know various departments and areas, gain a wide range of experience, and find out where you can best contribute your strengths. Our aim is not only to provide you with professional skills but also to develop your skills.”

Afterwards, new trainees got a safety briefing and the presentation of the management, the youth and trainee representatives as well as the works council.

Trainee excursion and team building in Austria

There is already a lot on the agenda for the new trainees in the first week. After getting to know each other and receiving general and organisational information, the future specialists will travel to Austria by bus with the trainees from the other apprenticeship years from Thursday as part of the annual trainee excursion. They will first visit the machine manufacturer Weingärtner before taking a gondola ride into the mountains and spending the night at Lake Wolfgangsee. Finally, on Friday, they will be bouldering in Salzburg before the excursion, and the first week of work for the new trainees ends with a lunch together.
